How to set the carrier bridge height?
-
Hello guys,
firstly, let me congratulate with you for the awesome job done. It is really a joy to fly in this scenario!I would be glad if you could share how you were able to set the carrier bridge height for the CVs Asturia and Juan Carlos.
In fact, I’m trying to add a new carrier but when I spawn on the deck my plane fall into the sea. In other words, the carrier deck is not solid and you can fly through it.
I followed the following steps:
1 Add the 3 model with the LOD editor (3d model and textures are working)
2 Create the carrier in the Falcon BMS editor with the same data of a working carrier (CV Stennis)
3 Add the carrier to a task force and remove form it the other carrier (Stennis task force)
4 Edit the Midway bridge in the objectives data/objectives in order the taki, runway and park points.
5 Assign the edited bridge to the carrier in the Vehicle/ships section. What am I missing?
Thanks for your help!
Best regards

Hi Blasto ,
I believe you land in the hitbox , so you will need your hitbox to be correctly set.
Maybe Nuno can help you, I am just guessing . Meanwhile check your hitbox settings and compare to the ones in the carrier models under lod editor.

most of the carrier deck elevation is harcoded.
You will need to wait for 3 to 4 weeks.

Yes, correct.
The only way I could find for the carrier model’s deck to match the proper height so we wouldn’t see the planes’ wheels either float or sink through the deck was to mess with the model’s Zposition, and raise / lower it by trial and error.
But for this you need to use LODEditor. -
There is a height field value in Falcon Editor, but it’s said it’s for future falcon version.

BlastoI did not see assigning carrier objective on that list.
Falling through deck is a sure thing when missing proper carrier objective.
Could be that other stuff mentioned above as well, but I don’t know about that.
Cheers
Edit. Step 4 says edited objective , but assigning it and adding it to te or campaign has to be done just right as well.

Fisrtly, I wish to thank you everyone of you for your replies.
I want to answer to:
Starrats - I think you are referring to what I mentioned as point 5 (Assign the edited bridge to the carrier in the Vehicle/ships section)
Nuno Santos and Blackwolf - Where can I define the hitbox in the LODeditor? Is there some manual or tutorial where I can learn it?
Thanks a lot to all of you.
