Set AWACS and Tankers altitudes in campaigns
-
I am trying to desperately understand how falcon sets the altitude of AWACS and tankers as the theater I am tweaking just puts AWACS at Angel 6 and tankers at Angel 35…
If anyone has a slight idea… That would help me a lot!!!
Cheers

I can see only “refuelAltitude 20000” for each AC in ACDATA directory.
Did you tried to change that line? -
apparently, this is all in mission.dat
Now I need to dig in…

Use MissionDatUtil.exe found here to export mission.dat to a csv file. The csv file is much easier to read, understand, and edit. Then you can save it back to a dat file with MissionDatUtil.exe again. For AWACS (and JSTAR) the values are: MinAlt 250, MaxAlt 300, and MissionAlt 260, meaning 25,000, 30,000, and 26,000 feet respectively. Edit those values as desired. The AMIS_TANKER values can similarly be edited. Have fun!

Here we go … Prepare to see you AIs not able to reach their target or diving into the see before being able to RTB like in any version prior 3.32
… Maybe time for me to quite the adventure. Remember the Falcon Dance … And the time nothing was stable?
Cheers.

Don’t worry dee-jay!
I’ll make sure I call you for the SAR missions
As you can imagine, having tankers at FL300 is not an option either…

Tanker is not that much the problem. They have plenty of fuel.
Issue is with fighters and some of them specifically. If the mission .dat is modified and ppl starts to mess with that file … each a/c data and database should be modified accordingly. Otherwise planned fuel/requirement & consummation, combat radius and target selection might be broken (dependingly on a/c, mission type and or actual mission loadout).I’ve sent you a PM few days ago about it … but I see in my “sent” PM box that it hasn’t been sent actually. Too bad.
