Some info about visor implemented in 4.34.

Visor tint can be defined in 3dckpit.dat via visor_tint_color 30000000; (default value in ABGR hex format).
3d visor model is controlled via DOF COMP_HELMET_VISOR 99 (do not forget to change maxDOF in parent to 100). DOF Range is 0.0 - 1.0.

COMP_HELMET_VISOR can be used to implement visor on external model pilot. None of 4.34 F-16s have this implemented yet.

I like the visor effect, I can see using it alot above the cloud layer or when attacking into the sun.

          GOTS…

Would be awesome if it was available in 2d cokpit as well(not flying all the time with tracking device) but it rocks anyway

Yes. It would be great to have the visor option in the snap pit.

I gave it a try in the LV4 F-16 (external) model but it seems that it’s not working correctly.

                      • I changed the visor model with my model from a closed to an open position. When ramp starting the visor is up for both human and AI. When lowering the canopy the all visors are coming down (AI). But when starting a mission from the taxiway/runway/mid-mission the AI’s visor is still up while the canopy is down.
                      • When using it with an unchanged visor model the visor will go up when the canopy is closed.

I think the issue is the difference in behavior between ramp start and starting a mission on taxi/runway or mid-mission. I can’t think of a model tweak to correct this at the moment.

Because I like my freedom to do whatever I feel doing and not be held back by poly limits or textures amount. I have been part of the freefalcon team but I like it better when working solo.
