Enemy parachute aces
-
I’ve just encountered a strange behaviour from AI J-15s.
The enemy pilots are way more aggressive than they used to be, but they also seem to have an odd relation to bravery in dire circumstances.Korean theatre, no mod, Double Dragon campaign, ace setting. No re-entry into 3D without leaving Falcon 4.0 beforehand.
My AI wingman and I faced two J-15s over the ocean. We shot them both down after a brief fight. A short skirmish and beers to be had.
Well, that’s what I believed, before I watched the acmi.
It appears both enemy pilots opted for ejection before their planes could actually be hit.
The first pulled the handle some second before his plane ate an AIM-120, and the second jumped when my AI wingman shot an AIM-120 at him at very short range, even though the missile never guided on its target. -

Will be fixed in 3 to 4 weeks
I will test a data change that I might propose awaiting a code fix

My bad, I thought my air prowess impressed them so much they preferred to eject rather than having to face ME !
Which made perfect sense. -
…I wouldn’t mind seeing this behavior randomized, and weighted by AI experience level. If it’s not that way already.
