Moving ground units create lags

Hello,
I have issues in balkans campaigns on day 6 ground units started to move, the clock on the map starts to “jump”.
I run mono version, checked the time and the log says in that moments ground units can’t find objective path.
I would like to fix, i think with terrain editor to check the paths tiles (?), I can’t install terrain editor due a runtime error.
Anyone encountered the same issue, ui map and lags in flights?thanks in advance for reply

Try a day 1. It will probably do the same all the time as well.

It is known ‘problem’ (feature). Units can’t move into airbases if some squadron is in there. , so that’s why you’re getting those errors…
They (Bms) have done it on purpose because of (moving) vehicles on the runway. , which is kinda problematic also. … dunno/. maybe DeeJay will think of something but for now is like that/
Are you sure that LAG is because of that, units can’t find a path? (we all have those errors, but I’m not sure that cause lag(s) … maybe)

mono log created gave me that “errors” in the same moment when the clock “jumps” in the ui. I checked in 3d and I have lags in the same time too so I am trying to understand if someone has the same behaviour.

hmmm , maybe you’re really on to something, … I’ve seen some ‘jumps’ (not really in 2d), when eg. parked on carrier sometimes plane move (jump) aside foot or so , parked and chalks on.
but I never connected the issue with the kind of lag created with path inaccessible to gu’s . I’ll take a closer look next time with mono and/or cpu spikes to see if that is the case
I’ve thought at first that could be vsync issue or something but now,… I will take a look in this direction.

I tried several things before report this problem.
This kind of behaviour happens just in balkans.
Kto is ok and it uses the same database.
I tried to reduce resolutions, same on clouds ps sync on and off.
I need to test if the problem can be solved deleting a carrier I added after the campaign started.If someone wants to help I can share the camp files I am flying.

Default Balkans theater , yes? … Plz give the link for the save so I can take a better look
… could be that something has gone wrong / buggy at your campaign and till that ‘action’ has resolved you get those stutters
…so that’s why I want your .cam save , … that will give ‘original’ picture of what is happening in your campaign … (of course on default theater, not mine)…till now
…unfortunately, I’m torturing falcon i sh**load of ways but no spikes , or clock stalls occurs ,… in 2d !!! , caused by the “indecisive” gu’s … path problems occur here and there , but none spiking to the causeBUT ALSO, I’m running modded Balkans , I’ve repaired whole map of links , paths, roads etc… and in 1st day of my campaign I have about 10000 of ground units deployed, 3 carriers , about 10 fleets… the rest comes with reinforces …
-In my understanding. When GU can’t find a path to objective it just cancels the action or choose next route , and wait for next campaign cycle , so there shouldn’t be any problems with lag , in case that nothing had gone wrong
-i.e, if a bridge has been destroyed and unit wants to get there or through there, and it can’t , it just won’t go there , but there shouldn’t be any lags with those indecisive units, it just aborts that ‘thought’-
if it is really happening , it could be kinda like 'micro stutter ’ , unnoticeable by naked eye … but could be also that my 3500/4600 12thread cpu eats those stutters so kinda burn-through

the biggest hogs happen in 3d for me , and those are even not seen by eye, then rather in (miliseconds) graph of the frame-times , that results in fps drop … sometimes down to 20fps

on 6core/12thread 3.5/4.6Ghz cpu and rx580 8gb 1366mhz core/2000mhz mem graphics card , that’s almost idiotic … but, huh, that’s Falcon … and dx9
… but there’s nothing wrong … it never stutters when in the air, that I can(not) see, … it’s all smooth , even when that 20fps situation arise
-I know that I can’t really compare but I can run “Doom” (2016/2017) on MAX in 170fps stable (Vulkan/Opengl) … Falcon DX9 is locked to 60fps whatever I do , and drops down 20 sometimes …, using 8x AA or none AA , fps stays the same… that can’t be… that’s why I’m headbanging the issue
-like running tetris on cray and then it lags (ok not really but HAHAHA):D

This is my whole campaign folder, campaign name I am encountering what I said before is called “dema”, modified, but I don’t think I did something wrong, anyway……

Dema, Ok, done. (should be) … you should continue from AUTO-SAVE(.cam) , then make your save. , (only repaired file is auto save.cam)

You have added 2 x F-104S squadrons , one I’ve fund in Tivat (Montenegro), in your home airport, one was in Gioia , … and I’ think you’ve manually put them there via MC, right ?
There were >Noplan< flags in those squadrons, and MC like to flag those when relocating squadrons to another airbase… I strongly suggest AVOID that flag.
That flag will not cause errors but can lead to them when things complicates in campaign engine.1. Also, I think that F-104’s are broken … MAYBE NOT! … but there were some errors also, … eg I’ve noticed that 2 flights of them were equipped with AIM-7M’s , but that plane even can’t carry those missiles, not even in database , how they were loaded … don’t know.
… why I’m suspicious, … well, You are on your day 6/7 in campaign , How come that they didn’t broke before? … no answer I’m afraid, CTD should come sooner but it didn’t
so, maybe they ARE NOT BROKEN , but just campaign got porked at some time
(or you’re running modded database, so all is cool)2. both those ctds (there were more) led to the ATM when pinged some of the F104S’s flight , so… I’ve deleted all flights for '104’s and marked squadrons USER controlled, I didn’t delete them from campaign… but ATM will not generate flights for them anymore automatically
so, you can try creating manual flights for them , if crash occurs , then you’ll be sure that they are responsible… something broken … IF NOT, just mark them ‘controlled by HQ’ again and see
3. cleaned up your auto-save … There were 5,6 flights without packages from day 1-3 … in auto-save… but you’re on day 6 … LOL , deleted as well
4. Flew one sweep from your 32nd sq. (block40) squadron , no problems , fps good ~60-70 (night 00:00) , not much traffic (day 6to7) , shot down 1 An-24 great success… just to give you some campaign ratio boost
… well, try and see ,… continue from Auto-save , make a single save the moment you enter so you’ll have some backup

Database is a bit modified with a new 104 model, it was already in my old 4.33 install, reported dat files and all stuffs for it. It works good. Camptask error is due some values missed in class table units in editor. Original 104 values are set to 0. Now I see you are looking at that campaign, maybe I should send to you also the object folder to run it cleaner.
Did you have any micro stutters or lags in 3d? -

Jackal… no no dude, every help is appreciated … well if not an ill turn , unfortunately., but even try is OK.
No there was no microstutter even in 3d , clock is fine in 2d even on 16x ./… but!, it was a night flight …so… not much reflections and all that gfx. 60-70fps constant, no lower, but there was no TGP/MAV mfd also.
I need to check flying dawn to noon , over frontline , the more GU’s in conflict the better.I can’t think of reason why would invalid unit in db create microstutters IN 2D …, but … then again … I’m not dev … so if there are any, I’m not aware of them yet.
Actually, you can send me your objects dir … but only XML’s and .dat(s) files, no need for 2gb hdr models and textures… i guess… (of course, I wont have models, but still can see db/ct structure)
Also send me your /Sim dir from your Balkans theater, with acdata and others…

p.s. actually one thing was strange , in my theater/campaign if I want to manually send an AD unit (battalion, eg. Patriot) to an airbase , there is immediate rejection of manual path … so ‘circle’ don’t want to even catch/glue onto airbase !!! IF there’s squadron on airbase !!! , if there is no squadron , then it moves without problem
but!,
in your case , I can manually send Patriot unit , near Brnik airport (Slovenia), and ‘circle’ stays on airport even there’s few squadrons on it. and in unit properties I can see ETA ~30min , but … unit will never get into airport … it shouldn’t, and it didn’t, it is blocked by code … so that’s why you have some AD/AAA units near airports/airstrips but they can not get in
…unfortunately, no mono responses about invalid path’s… yet!! , … they will come, they should…I need to play more

This switch solves some Win10 incompatibilities with graphics drivers and dx9, notably in BMS.
When I turn this off (default state) , I get pretty much screen tearing even vsync is on in driver config… so , amd driver application profile isn’t loaded at all.
So , there is also no AAx8 even if enabled on driver level , not in BMS.Also!! , with that disabled … I’ve seen it , stutter in 2D … especially in ‘outro’, titles screen. Titles are totally asynchronous , like problem with vsync, but worse…
So that may be your culprit… You are on win10 are you?
So this MUST be enabled for BMS , but exactly as seen on pic, for ‘All users’ (imperative, don’t ask why, otherwise is not working… eh… win10)

Keep in mind that with latest AMD driver you are gonna have issues at a lot of extra theaters!
Latest stable AMD driver for windows 7 is the 17.7.1 (for extra theaters of BMS to work smooth)

Nikos.thanks a lot for advice, well I tried to keep that you mention for years but I tried the latest and I have not any issues about them. Same performance and fps everywhere. I can try to revert back even if I don’t think it’ s related to them.

Can you please post the model of your graphics card as also the specific version of AMD driver?
Means that you run the Balkans theater into BMS 4.34 with NO issues, right?
IF you still have installed BMS 4.33, can you check there also the Balkans theater? This in order to we know IF it is something with the AMD driver or with the version of BMS.

I can run all theaters with this config, drivers settings are all application controlled, on drivers control panel I have just > texture filtering quality = standard
The only thing I noticed with this card is a poor perfomance in taxi with Lighting Effect settings in config if they are set to per-pixel. if set to per-vertex I gain 10-15 fps in taxi.
Also, in 4.34 I have bad fps with poor weather or heavy cumulus clouds, and with the new PS my specs suffers much more respect 4.33. I tried to reduce resolution in config editor about those effects but I have almost the same results.Cheers
