Firstly, to Chuckles and everyone else involved, thank you VERY much for bringing K’12 back!
I can also confirm and hopefully amplify on Soldano’s bug report. At first I did a k’12 Viper mission from Kunsan and everything was normal.
Then I went to Maxx and did a mission of Enterprise. On deck when I called for QNH, Taxi, etc., I got Kunsan. They gave me a QNH but everything else was “contact when in my airspace.” This was with presets and manually setting ground freq per briefing. I did save and load the DTE for the Maxx mission.
I hope that helps.Good Day, All. Update on the above post: Last night after writing this I went into Mission Commander , and activated the carrier in K’12. I also changed it to Enterprise and moved it to the west coast (personal preference). Anyway, as I was Briefing the first mission I noticed the presets for UHF 2-4 were what I had been using in other theaters, and more importantly they worked in the cockpit. They are (for Enterprise ground/tower/approach) 265.3,.2,.1, respectively.
The TACAN did not work, so I went back into MC and changed it to the 16x from my notes.
I haven’t had a chance to test TACAN in K’12,yet, or test comms in Maxx, but I’ll let you know.
So, it may not be a bug, per se. It may just be the original install freq values are not what we’re used to seeing. -
I quoted my previous post, just to remember users of this new theater who want to fly carrier missions, to edit previously the F18E.dat and F18F.dat files, adding the line related to the launchbar.- If not, you will find that catapult launchings with Super Hornets are not posible .- It seems to happen with every new theater released ultimately

It will work… with F18E/F/ G(EA-18G) … but, caveat… it wont work with all? (specific) plane(s). I think its about some new ‘switch’ in model itself. … I’m bugging MaV-jp to split teh beans… but he’s all but not ears.
I.e. with AV8B you’ll get CTD saying error in ‘input’ (LoL) … but yeah, it doesn’t work unfortunately… only! for the ‘player’ … AI planes use cat launch like for breakfast, even US cat , or Kuznetsov type launch.
But F18 family works out of the box, so, enjoy.

into the Korea 2012 acdata ,and it worked. So, say you’re flying k’12, you have to put it in the appropriate ,K’12, acdata folder. The first time I tried I put it in the Korea folder-wrong.
On the second try, it worked, with a couple of visual observations. First, I assigned and used keyboard callbacks, so I don’t know if the switch moves in’pit.Secondly, the launch bar itself does not go up and down . When I extended the LB, the jet tilted slightly down by the nose. Very Tomcat-esque!
But the key thing is, The Rhino is now carrier-qualified. -
One further Rhino note, and I don’t know if I’d call this a bug, but… this Sup-E spawns trimmed extremely nose up, apparently. When you leave the Cat, the nose snaps up . This has happened all 3 times today. In fact, on the second one the tail hit the deck, causing twin engine fires and a quick Nylon Letdown.
The third time I launched without take off trim set. That seemed to help.
It’s a bit problematic since of course the Hornet doesn’t have the trim gauges, so there’s noting to warn you. I’m going to try the next launch with the old alt+enter “trim reset” -

I’ve figured after about 6 Rhinos destroyed , lol… every time I was scraping the deck at the cat launch … trim or no trim. - So , you can retract the launchbar as soon as you are hooked, I’ve tested it.
The good marker is your wingman , when he/she . enters the burner phase , then wait few more secs , like 5s , then kick in the burners . It should be ok to TO.
ALSO check yours heading (scale) stopped moving,… (left, right turn). while still on the deck., cat.
…but DARN, … if you didn’t do the INS alignment, which is kinda broken in 4.34 for carriers (but is fixed for next update) , then you’ll have no heading scale… but then CHECK COMPASS , if its still (fixed on heading) then is ok to TOYes, F18E/F needs a lot less trim then F18A/C … but still , it is nicer experience , as in RL ,… hands off in cat TO. (I just do 1 to 1.5sec press on TO-Trim)
So yes, … when on cat first do TRIM-RESET , then apply that much to-trim .Cheers

I tried several times, but no way, even waiting until getting take off clearence from tower, and with the carrier steady into the wind, if you retract the launch bar once hooked to the catapult, the engines shut off inmediately after launching.- I am afraid that as I said before, you must retract it after launching, and before retracting gear

Soldano, it’s interesting what’s happening to you, as I’ve never had engine shutdown(s)(unless you count hitting the turndown )
W_F, I can confirm that, on my install at least, you can retract the bar after you’re hooked up. I also noticed that with my Tomcat-esque nose dipping (which I know isn’t realistic but sure looks cool) the nose will stay down if you’ve successfully hooked up.
I’ve been checking the external view, and the jet does spawn with the stabulators in at least take off trim mode, and if you add TO trim to that-yikes. I wonder if the devs have modeled the Rhino to express that the Sup has more automated flight surface setting. Also, by sheer luck I wait until the Boat is into the wind. That always seemed more "real " to me
One more thing, be real careful if you want to trim nose down to compensate. I tried that-once- and almost went into the water -
Well. It’s true FA18E/F sometimes wants to scrape the deck when leaving the ship, … and really it is TO-TRIM responsible. (can’t miss it , whole pit gets lighted like a Christmas tree)
Probably Rhino’s trim is more sensitive (or fm model characteristics) , so it is somewhat ‘picky’ .Meh, my BAD… with the TO-TRIM value… Don’t even hold TO-TRIM keys for 1-1.5s , just press once (like ‘click’) , it should be enough for F18E/F.
Forget about that clickable ‘hotspot’ in the pit (there’s no callback in the 3dpit file, ‘F18TOTRIM’),… use keys, I’ve changed mine so these are not default CTL+SHF+T - so just one short press , don’t hold.
-If it’s not working (or is not comfortable for you), try with the single key - without modifier(s)Should be OK now, I don’t scrape anymore, 3 of 3 successful take off’s.

Hello… Thanks for great file. But I have a problem. I followed your instruction but it doesn,t appear my theater. Only korea kto and TvT. when I remove add on word like a Korea KTO, Korea 2012 and other theater appear but no picture on right. I remember when I choose Korea 2012, I saw the Kim’s face in 4.32 but no picture in 4.34. And click then press ok, game was off. Help me please.

Try re-downloading the RAR file from Mediafire. It is possible the file became corrupted during the download.

If I choose Korea, it works but I can’t choose F35 and for Korea2012, got some error and unable to read the file.(ex: usable airplane is beyond its capacity. The slots are 191 but 2012’s slots are 195.

I am not sure could be an issue with the Korea 2012 DB. When we get time, we wil do some more DB work to Korea 2012s DB.

I have this same issue, can’t load any Korea 2012 campaign files in Mission Commander

the issue seems related to DB/file structure…the maga pack contains several “sub-theaters” like korea2012, X-plane, etc. Only korea2012 can use dedicated DB.
to restore MC compatibility, the DB and some files should be replaced with default KTO ones.

Even trying to load the Korea 2012 I get the following errors when trying to load in MC:Failed to load the UCD XML. This is then followed by: ValidAC.art has more entries than listed on top. Nr 192, items 195.

I was analyzing the database and so far I found one error:
in the UCD file there probably should not be the last register…In the register of 621 instead of entries
<vehiclectidx_0>2406 …
should be
<vehiclectidx_0>3560 …
In short
FLIGHT at index 621 should have F-CK-1C instead of F-16I CFT as elementsIn addition, FLIGHT index 622 has no entry in the Class Table.
After testing in the editor, the database did not show any major errors, but still the UCD file will not load in the MC (dunno why… :icon_e_surprised:
It may also be related to the fact that there are 426 aircraft entires in the database and there are 195 entries in the VALIDAC.ACT file (in this note there is an error at the beginning of the file - 192 are entered there)
There are 208 entries in the teplanes.lst file.
Im not good with editing this database (i.e. adding new planes - im still trying) but I hope that I helped at least slightly to solve the problem…</vehiclectidx_0></vehiclectidx_0>

the issue could be fixed by reverting back to using default KTO DB/files. ( and lose new ac, F14/22 3d pit )
Replace Korea2012 folder/files with default KTO ones:
