Wind Turbines WIP

Hi!
Well, I could give you serveral reasons … But I will only mention the two main reasons:
- We can’t release anything without a prior review and clearance from Bilionsoft.
- Without the core soft, in most of the cases, ppl will not be able to do something with the Data branch. Need EXE updates.
D, actually a Github style bug tracking could work, internally but also outside. It doesn’t have to be a public interactive kind of thing, enough that you have some tracking and reports from Public and you can fix things internally and announce those as “Check fix next version” or “Check fix 4.34 U1” etc
I happen to learned about a GUI API named Dear Imgui in the last few months (For work purposes mainly but also I will use it in BMS for some tools that I plan/have), It’s an open source project but regardless of that, almost all questions that I searched for had a report on Github. It’s a great great platform to maintain stuff, keep live connection with Devs etc.
I think it can be a good idea, the only problem is to raise and maintain such a platform for BMS, I’m not even sure what it would take to do that.

Thank for i fo I-Hawk!
Will we be able to keep the track of “SVN changlog” ? … IMO, if we choose to move on such platform, we have to do it on a major branch separation. Bit I still fail to understand why it would be better for public comunity (?) … If it is only a common repository for finished work and source from comunity, a simple common dropbox could be suitable, or separated Github (?)

No I’m not talking about Github as a repository, but more about the Bugtracking it offers. I don’t know if you can’t do one without the other but in worse case we can possibly use some dummy repo or maybe even an active one with Release version data for small fixes which are suitable.
Hopefully as more changes are coming, maybe in the future we will be able to even shift some data development stuff to be “fully live”. For example for new 3D models to replace old ones, it can be as easy as replacing a couple of files in the repo. Such stuff may become full continuous if has no other dependencies.
Maybe someday.

Yes, a dummy repo would be the way to go. Valve, for example, do something similar for their Linux Steam client: https://github.com/ValveSoftware/steam-for-linux. They just have a mostly empty repository containing just a couple of text files, and instead they only use it for tracking issues. I’m pretty sure there are other examples as well.
The downside of that approach is that you wouldn’t be able to take advantage of all the built-in hooks, triggers and actions (e.g. closing an issue when a fix gets merged), but that could be worked around by using custom actions. Lot of effort though, and ultimately icing on the cake.

That is 1 interesting approach! I’ll forward it in the team, will see if we can maybe get something useful. Thanx!
