MAN-IN-THE-LOOP WEAPONS can fly infinite range

Hi
I spot a strange phenomenon . MAN-IN-THE-LOOP WEAPONS such as AGM-84H and Delilah can fly infinite range.
the guidance range is also infinite. I can fire a Delilah 170 NM away from my target and guide it to hit the target.Do you have any ideas about this ?

Delilah is not infinite it has a operation time of 22min after that it will destruct. The range is dependent on cruise altitude the higher the faster the more range

i check the misdata: the terminalguiderange 66836.000000. Is it NM ??

Play tested that very intense and even even had the case in various mission. exactly 22 minutes and the dissappear.
Terminalguidance is when the leave the cruise altitudy and go terminal so that’s in has my opinion nothing to to with the overall range and I would assume that to be feet -

66836 feet is 10.999791 nautical mile, probably not a coincidence

Yes IIRC the Terminal guidance range in the FM is a minimal distance from target that the missile can switch to terminal mode. There is a chance I’m wrong but I remember for sure there is a limitation and this value sounds fit
And BTW, you can of course trick that range easily by simply getting your target closer and then moving it back further

Agreed for the Delilah - they have a max operating time rather than a max range
I used 23 min in my training mission, and rather points to err on the safe side and strike within 20 minThe above should become a BMS training mission, but the fact that it can be done by default only with the Israeli SUFA strikes my vision of force employed in BMS KTO
Might consider switching to the F/A-18 and use the SLAM-ER rather than the couple F-16/DelilahBUT
Other MITL like the GBU-15 certainly don’t have that limitation. GBU 15 is a glide bomb, so it’s range really depends on the altitiude it is launched from and certainly will not fly for 20 minutesI don’t know if the AGM-84E has the time limitation as the Delilah, never tried them

Hi
My question is i can fire man in loop weapon beyond the max range of DLZ. So In my test, My missile can glide more than 250 NM in 22 minutes above 23000 feet AGL .
So i think it’s illogical if limit the missile range only by flight time.
It should prohibit firing man in loop weapon such as AGM-84 and Deliha beyond max range of DLZ. if don’t do this, player can Launch a missile 250 nautical miles away from the target.
It equals to cheating.

AGM-84E and H do have the time limitation. It has 18 minutes. we can fire a AGM-84H from Athens to Turkey airspace and hit Turkish target because it can glide more than 250 NM in 18 minutes.

Both the Delilah and AGM’-84 don’t glide. They are turbofan propelled cruise missiles. So there is no cheat. Maybe flight time for the 84 might be to long. But Delilah is stated in all available sources with an deployment range > 160 NM

Yes and it is fine… we know (more or less) the Delilah flight range (in time) and we know the speed (more or less), so what you see that it can travel 250NM is real. But the EFFECTIVE range is lower because the purpose of the weapon is eventually to hit a target (And usually a high value target), so if you fire the Delilah to kill a SA-2 FCR that is 250NM away, then good for you but you just wasted an expensive missile for almost nothing. But assuming you fire on SA-10 or Patriot (The main targets of the missile), then usually you will be required for a couple of GA maneuvers in order to find and hit the FCR of the system, because from experience these systems will not appear on your map and even if they do, there are high chances they will move until you make your mission, fly to target area and fire the Delilah.
In most missions we did in ITO when I was still flying with my VFS, we usually fired the missile at the range of the SAM and hope to find the FCR when the missile gets to the target area. I doubt we ever used the Delilah effectively for a range larger than 70-75NM.
