X65F 3d print Physical Lift Detent
-
I’m using the BMS analog Idle and AB Dentent. Even so the X65F Throttle has 2 detents it sometimes happens that I push back the throttle over the Idle detent to cutoff and shut down the engine in flight.
So it was time for a real physical lift detent. As I couldn’t find an existing one to 3d print looked at some designs available for other HOTAS and found a design for the Virpil that draw my attention so took the basic concept as an ideo to desing one that fits the X65F.
Still a work in progress, might change the AB to allow to to be push through.Once tested in a few flight I’ll make it available on thingiverse

I have a logitech x-56 and have been looking for a solution. This is great, thanks for sharing.

Superb achievement!
Do you think it’s adaptable to an X56?
Once available I will see you to do a test on an X56.
Can be an improvement if possible, add a slope on the side of the afterburner, so as not to have to raise the lever to return to the “buster” position -
That’s some fine DIY engineering there, man! Well done!

Very interesting!
I have also built my own detent for my X65F. I don’t care a lot about the idle detent (I have it disabled), but I found the position of the AB detent unacceptable, so I built a push-through detent with Fischertechnik at 2/3 to 3/4 of the throttle range. It is a very big and maybe a bit imprecise construction, but it works. I can also swap between detents on both throttles, one throttle (when the throttles are coupled) and none (when I don’t want a detent). -
Cool!

“Once tested in a few flight I’ll make it available on thingiverse” are you going to release the 3D printer files? or are you making and selling these for customers who ask really really nicely … please.

How does the AB detent in the real F-16 work?
I feel like a lift-up detent might be easier to build than a push-through detent. -

You have to lift the throttle to move it to the AB position.
