Good Day, All. Today’s update is regarding Chuckles/Osprey/OFM Theaters compatibility with 4.36.3.
We found an issue in OFMKTO that affected mission assignment to some forces.
The fix is- https://www.mediafire.com/folder/iay35ggdwn5sy/OFMKTO+File+Fix+for+4.36.3Beyond that, we are checking the other Theaters and have not found issues. Let us know if you find any.

Here’s another update on U3 Theater compatibility. OFM-Balkans, Viet Nam, and the about to be released Nevada all test out fine.
Also, the F-35C has been added to the Dogfight modules. -
@drtbkj
Guess what, Fra’?
Nevada OFM 1.5 has been released, and it’s a wonder.
No surprises there, I am not surprised either: when the stuff is of good quality…With best compliments and regards.

Thanks, Compadre. You see Fra’ Joe’s is still in there?
Actually living in Nevada gives me extra appreciation of this Theater. Besides the Fallon Fix (Fallon being where the rl modern TopGun and more is ), we’ve gone a slightly different direction with the Top Gun and the campaign formerly known as Mission Illogical. As a homage to Chuckles, we tried to make TG more like Carrier Max, and MI more like XPlane. . -
Good Day, All. For today’s update we present a new channel over on our Discord. If you check out the "OFM Release " channel you find links to Theaters we build or help with.
I should mention that all are U3 compatable. We are at the 1.5.1 versions, but the 1.5’s have all the flight model stuff we’ve done. 5.1 just adds changes from the Radar Project and the latest 5G Pit changes.
Speaking of Theaters, I just got done flying the new Kuriles Theater and really liked it. Think Taiwan but with Migs. -
@drtbkj
Ah, the new Nevada, Fra’?
I saw the results, yeah. Good luck with it - to all of us.With best regards.

Good Day, All
Today’s update is about the Fifth Gen Pit. We have been working with the ergonomics and have made a few changes.
https://www.mediafire.com/folder/6jxl2bqk0ylfw/OFM+5G+Pit has the latest files and DOCS.
As previously stated, our goal is to enable you to ramp start and fight the jet without keyboard input. To do that we have been dealing with the reality that some modern functions don’t have a cockpit indications when activated, one example being AVTR. So, our plan was to put a “non-indicated” function(s) on a visible switch or knob. However, we found that some don’t visibly move once the hotspot is adjusted. So, what we have done in a couple of cases is to make the commands foolproof. So, left clicking on the center MFD OSB 11 turns AVTR on, and right click turns it off. Left clicking on the ext.lgt. master knob is NORM, and right click is off. All the changes are listed in the README.We would welcome any cockpit builder who would like to help with the switch/knob “visualization” issue. Barring that, we feel fairly satisfied with the pit.

Good Day,All Today’s update is mainly about the 5G Pit, with a Tornado bonus. Also, I got asked how we designate the Theater upgrades, so perhaps an explanation is in order. For the Chuckle/Osprey/OFM Theaters ,the major updates are 1.4,1.5, etc… 1.5.1 is the absolute latest version, the “mid-release” versions have the few changes discussed above. And, unless we specifically call it a hotfix, you use the uninstall old/install new process.
When we release the upgrades is dependent on what new data/settings we accumulate ,and when. CCC and others are finding improvements all the time. That was why we went from, 1.3 to 1.5 rather quickly. A lot of stuff landed in a short time. I mention that because unless something major shows up, our current plan is to wait a while for 1.6. So, if you want the latest 5G stuff, I recommend you install the file yourself. I have tested in the F-35C in multiple Theaters . All you have to do is install the 3dbutton.dat. This would be true of any jet that comes with the 5G Pit . https://www.mediafire.com/folder/2fe1tbsurxzj4/Fifth+Gen+Cockpit+Checklist+and+DOCs gives you the current 3d.dat, plus instruction how to install, a checklist for ramp start, and new to the file are checklist png’s for kneeboards. The 5G Pit changes are those I listed 2 days ago.
I mention our planned timing on 1.6 because now would be a good time to go with the latest versions. We probably won’t go and change it on you quickly There is some discussion within the Mafia about development of the Tornado, but that would likely be a 1.6 item. -
Just about the Tornado: all of you can bet it very well,
With best regards.

Jackal, I created a Discord channel for the Project
-
@drtbkj
I guessed you should have done that… well done.With best regards.

Good Day, All. Today’s update has some Mafia Discord news. We have created a Tornado Dev Group channel, moderated by Jackal. It will be available to any Mafia member, just contact Jackal on Discord to get on the Dev Channel itself
There is also a general aspect to this. I’ve found this to happen often in the Mafia. Someone has a favorite jet , wants to make it better, and takes the lead. We are very supportive of such people. -
Good Day, All. Today’s has has “teasers” of jets we’re working on at present.
We’re now doing flight testing in the Tornado, and the T-45 . The Goshawk is for a project Brother Ronin has in mind. Those projects are proceeding well.
The top picture is a pet project. A Mafia member asked me about the Tomcat. That kind of inspired me to revisit the jet. We have the variants, the A,B,and D. All are accurate in terms of engines and radar. Since the B and D were essentially the same, I thought it would be fun to modernize the D. I call it Super Tomcat 22. We are also looking at the Phoenix missile flight performance
-
Good day, All. Here’s an update for today…
Firstly, I’ve gone through the Files all the “4.35-36 Data Files” are current ( flight models and cockpit files)
Secondly, flight model testing on the T-45 and Tornado continues, and both will be in the OFM 1.6 version, release date TBD.
Thirdly, while the F-14 will be in 1.6 as well, we have received a request for the updated F-14A,B,and D(“Super Tomcat 22”) files for immediate installation . https://www.mediafire.com/file/0dvriuv0aj9ycye/OFM_1.5.1_F-14_Super_Tomcat__HOTFIX.zip/file
There is a README with installation instructions.
NOTES: 1)The link above has the F-14 flight model and cockpit files for all the variants, plus the files needed for the ST 22 ordinance/hardpoints, for the “One Stop Shoppers” out there . The individual jet files are also in “4.35-36 Data Files”
2) The Tornado folder in Data Files has the current active files but not those from the WIP Tornado Project. We’ll announce when those are in place. -
@drtbkj ,
Since Brother Ronin is apparently developing the T-45 Goshawk (and that is a BEAUTIFUL model, by the way), and since that is the aircraft used for all Navy jet pipeline training, I wonder if Brother Ronin’s project might be to develop Naval Aviator Training?? If so, is he (or anyone else) working on making objectives for FCLP (Field Carrier Landing Practice), such as a runway with the “Carrier Box” and lighting, and an IFLOLS for the field?
Thanks,
Tomcattwo

(VoiceClone)Hi, T2, It’s a WIP but yes, that’s the plan. We’ll share more on it when there is a more concrete plan

Good Day, All. It’s been awhile since an update, so away we go…
Flight Model development continues as always . Last night we were testing some F-18 changes to address a certain flight regime. We got the issue sorted. One specific we’re investigating is to get the Hornet paddle to function (as in rl) as a G-limit override.
Speaking of FM’s ,we’re pretty close to having new dats/afm’s for you to test. I’ll announce it here when they are in the Mafia Files.
Meanwhile, Tornado dev continues, CCC has generated a lot of stuff for the upcoming OFM 1.6’s( release date TBD), and Brother Eddie is making a nice looking wing for the Harrier.
Brother Ronin also continues to work on his Training Program. -
Good Day, All, In our last update I mentioned the F-18C/E FM. I just put the latest file (.dat and .dat/afm) in the Mafia Files. Feel free to test and enjoy them, and input is welcome.
They are installed in x/BMS 4.36/data/any theater with the OFM database/sim/acdata.
The link to the Mafia Files are:https://www.mediafire.com/file/qsmotd3yem0edmw/F-18C.dat/file

https://www.mediafire.com/file/l3wmzvjenyqefa9/F-18E_afm.dat/fileWe also also testing new FM files for the Phoenix missile and developing the AIM-120D. More on that later.

Hi, Topolo. What we see is that the paddle does work to override the autopilot, that’s not the issue. As you probably know, the RL Hornet is limited to 7.5 G. But, when you pull the paddle , you can get 9+. It’s a different set up then the Viper’s.
We do not see that behavior. Do you? If so, you’re doing this with stock BMS Hornet dat/afm files?
FYI, we were able to get close to 9G in the Hornet with other flight models, but it affected other flight regimes, plus of course we want to be as accurate to RL as possible. Hence the “Paddle Project”
