4.35 ACP connection error and questions…
-
Situation:
-
I installed 4.35 FRESH… clean… no touchings
-
First time i tried to connect with a friend… he got ACP error?? what?
-
As always …i always back up the WHOLE data folder after new installs or updates… to have the “original” files at hand at all times. So i took that backup and over-wrote the data/sim folder . (why, because before i compared 4.35 and 4.34 fm files with notepad ++… and maybe i saved something “wrong” … (bk 50 and 52) was the thought…but no i did not.
-
So we tried to connect again (i hosted… adcata and tileset required checked ON in configurator)
-
again my friend is not able to connect with an ACP connection error ??? (firewall, router and ports are ok!)
-
alright…maybe!=??? i had made a liftvector and mfd fonts size mod … to clean that… i over-wrote the whole Art folder with the original backup of the 4.35 art-folder… to be 100% sure, like really everything is ORIGINAL as it gets
-
again… friend got ACP connection error.
out of ideas…
So my question is… what is all the folders and files ACP is currently actually checking? because the ONLY thing that would be different at this point… is only a BMS-AS.key stroke file ( i do and have to make my onw joystick and keyboard layout) in the config folder…

@A.S:
Situation:
- I installed 4.35 FRESH… clean… not touchings
Then you go on to tell of all the mods you did? Do a fresh install w/o touching ANYTHING (except what I mention), same for your friend, then see what happens. I’ve had 0 issues online with my buddy, we copied over our logbook, phonebook, and connected perfectly. Flew for a couple hours, no issues.

But if you host and he is getting ACP error in my understanding that means he made changes to his acdata
-
-
the “mods” (minor changes in font size and gfx) …was corrected by re-over-writing the WHOLE DATA folder with the originals…and still ACP connection error on his side (me the host).

But if you host and he is getting ACP error in my understanding that means he made changes to his acdata
mine too… but if i as host screwed around with files… and his are “original” he still would get same error no?
-
well he was the first person i tried to connect with under .35 …will try with other people and see what happens.

FOUND IT !!
ACP now checks… SOMETHING (or the whole edit: no not whole) config folder …
Edit… :
i am reliefed… because it is NOT
- my old logbooks
- my old keystroke.key (personal layout of stick and keyboard) file
- not the devicesorting file (otherwise i would have to make all DX buttons again)
- axismapping.dat was also not the issue…i could use the old one without re-asigning all axes again…
… nice ! happy works now… without giving the “do all again pain”
but sure is SOMETHING NOW IS checked inside the config folder AS WELL by ACP… interesting…what (inside there) would be or is considered “cheat-critical” (and different from 4.34) in that folder lol? - which was not the case with 4.34!!! ( copied the whole 4.34 config folder into .35… )
-
mmm … not sure it should be like that (?) …
We also had some possible weird things yesterday while running some tests on Dev.
-
alright …further investigation… and ULTRA STRANGE
something inside the falcon_BMS.cfg file seems to be causing it… (no other files … because only differences (test successful…not succesfull were changes inside there)…
… now trying to find out…what … ultra confusing lol … or some other random ACP-ing bug?

FOUND IT DEE-JAY…
the evil doer isssss
recommend adding in the configurator description…that this “check box” is ACP critical (reproduceable multiple times over different hosts/clients)
that check box… was - is - the fail or success ACP report… (for us) …and we went crazy to make sure all rest is the same and clean install.
Thanks…you buy the beer
-
Thank you!

Where is the beer?

Indeed this option change some Acdata files (flight model files)
