Ice’s Falcon BMS Profile Updated for BMS 4.37

@linknet said in Ice’s Falcon BMS Profile Updated for BMS 4.35 U3:
The Helios profile always runs at 30Hz, you can’t change that. The only thing that can be changed is the texture refresh rate for the MFDs etc. There is no hard and fast rule for that setting, just set it to whatever works best. The default is 90Hz so if it’s not affecting your frame rate then leave it at that.
Reset it to 90Hz now but the MFDs still lag significantly behind the in-cockpit MFDs. Totally not smooth at all. Am I doing something wrong or have missed a setting/instruction somewhere? Thanks!

Sounds just like when I first tried using my 4.35.3 Helios Profile in 4.36… Not only were the MFDs lagging, so were all the gauges. Ended up uninstalling 4.36 and installing fresh, tried same profile, works perfectly now…

@Icer Just to check that I’m understanding correctly ----- reinstalling BMS? Or reinstalling Helios? Or both?

Just BMS 4.36… I can only guess there was an issue when I copied some old config file over (or something ) the 1st time, and I have not installed any other theaters yet either whereas I installed Baltics and Balkans immediately last time. I do not think theater’s played any part but a vanilla install is the best way to find out… Just be sure to add "set g_bExportRTTTextures 1 " to your Falcon BMS User.cfg file, then give it a go!
-
@Icer Well, this is vanilla install, no mods or theatres yet aside from Helios, but I’ll try anything if it will fix. Is there a safe way to uninstall? Or just delete the folder? I can’t remember if the “Falcon dance” included an uninstall dance too.

You need to go into the x:/Falcon BMS 4.36 Setup folder, run setup.exe, choose uninstall. NEVER just delete folders!

@Icer Thanks for that!

Not quite sure that I understand, but if you are trying to use the 4.35-12 profile for BMS 4.36 you may need the updated bin folder files in this download:
https://www.mediafire.com/file/z0r7oye82cuwcp1/Bin_Updates_for_4.36.zip/file -
@linknet Thanks for reply and link. To clarify, when using the CPD function, the saved mission info seems to save when playing campaigns, but when play TE mission or user created TE mission, it does not save the mission briefing in CPD. I hope this makes more sense. Thanks

Are you using BMS 4.35 or 4.36? If using 4.36 have you installed the updated bin folder files? In both Campaign and TE are you selecting PRINT from the mission briefing page before flying?

I have the following settings below. Do I need to change anything?
Helios is running really slow/laggy for me, not just the MFDs but even the gauges, for example going from MIL to IDLE, the needle unwinds smoothly in the cockpit but is very laggy in Helios. Same thing for something like fuel flow counter. My PC should have more than enough power to render everything smoothly. -
@Atlas Other people have reported this but the solution seems to have been to completely uninstall and then reinstall BMS. It’s not a problem with any of the Helios settings since they wouldn’t have the effect that you’re complaining about.
-
@Atlas Out of curiosity, do you use the Alternate Launcher?
If you do, you will need to point to the “BMS - Auto.cfg” key file.
The correct process is mentioned on the profile pages installation notes.
-
@linknet Just re-installed. Vanilla game, no theatres or mods. Still having this problem.
@CriticalMass No, using the default Launcher. I’ll try the Alt Launcher.

Odd, I use AL 2.10 and latest Helios and left it set to Ice’s … works perfectly… but I only export MFDs and 6 gauges.
@Atlas - I was one that suffered stuttering exports from Helios at 1st, a 4.36 uninstall/reinstall only bringing over my Logbook and Phonebook solved it for me…

I’m having trouble getting my canopy close switch (while holding it), to work.
I’ve tweaked my profile in Helios Profile Editor to include the new momentary close position, but it still only closes for a split-second and stops.
Here are my settings:
I’ve added these lines to my BMS-Ices’s Helios Profile key file:
AFCanopyToggle 115 0 0x13 4 0 0 1 “LEFT WALL: CANOPY - Toggle (new Shortcut)”
AFCanopyOpen 115 0 0x2F 5 0 0 1 “LEFT WALL: CANOPY - Open (new Shortcut)”
AFCanopyClose 115 0 0x2F 6 0 0 1 “LEFT WALL: CANOPY - Close (new Shortcut)”Any ideas of what I’m doing wrong?
Thanks! -
@Icer Not even imported anything, I just modified the default Viper pilot profile and loaded my own .key file. I’ve noticed now that it’s not just the MFD exports that is laggy but even the fuel flow gauge or even the engine RPM gauge. There will be a few brief moments when they are smooth but most of the time, they are laggy.

Exactly my symptoms, along with uninstalling I did make a fresh profile also, so not sure exactly what fixed it…
