Slaw F-16 Rudder Pedals
-
Greetings to everyone! My first post…
I know pedals are not a true necessity for BMS, but thought these were pretty cool and apparently well made: no word on release date or price yet, but his other pedals go for around 300 Euros + shipping…
Have a bandit day,
Don -
Can’t wait!!
-
They look nice but for $330+ for pedals is a bit much for me. I can’t believe i paid $172 for my saitek combat pedals.
-
for a semi-useless device it seems a bit too pricey
-
They look fantastic though, much better than anything else out there for similar money, past or present.
-
For BMS, yeah, I agree. But for any heli or prop sim, an absolute necessity. I won’t be running out to buy these, but figured some are high fidelity enough to want them
-
considering that the only F-16 pedals looking like F-16 pedals are closer to 1500euros for us,
the above referenced is a great opportunity for the Viperpit community.Don, I’m sure you know but you should head out to viperpits.org

This could not be any better timing… I literally spent the last 2 days contacting realsimulator and other Sim vendors for their hifi pedals which neither of them would sell unless I purchased a 40,000 cockpit. So yeah this is great news, and great timing. 330?? That’s a steal for something like that considering (as RD wrote) most other metal pedals systems were thousands… I never missed selling my cockpit, but I always did miss my RS F-16 rudder pedals.

Within reason… 330 for junky plastic rudder pedals is pricey, but not for what this guy is offering. Its relatively very cheap IMO.
-
I agree with Red Dog

If you’re into racing sims as well you could consider the Thrustmaster T500RS wheel which comes with a set of very sturdy pedals (throttle, brake and clutch) which work just fine as rudder pedals in BMS thanks to the “virtual rudder” function. They also have a 300€ price tag with the added bonus of having a great racing wheel (belt driven).
Cheers, Uwe

T500 rs is rather 399 or even 499 euros here
T300RS is 300€ -
10 odd years ago I paid about this much for a set of SimPeds with the F-16 toe brake addition. At the time they were the state-of-the-art pedals and worth every penny I paid. If I was looking to replace them (or possibly even if not) I’d not think twice about these Slaw pedals. They look the Dogs Bo***cks and worth every penny (maybe like to try a set first for feel or talk to someone I trust who has, but….)
Think about it. You paid about 300 for your Cougar or Warthog, then some folks paid another 300 on FFSB kits etc. Obviously if you can’t afford them or thing they are expensive then there are cheaper (more plastic’y) pedals on the market that may do the job.

True what you said about people spending a lot of money on HOTAS. I just don’t see spending that kind of money on pedals, they aren’t used like a HOTAS. Anyway, I hope he does well and people buy them like hotcakes. They do look very nice and seems like they are built to last.

They look nice. Would be interesting to see a force sensing version.
-
Why?
there’s no need for a force sensing version. What you need is a fixed strong course to avoid having the impression to depress your feet in butter like on all low end rudder pedals
if the axis response is strong, it will be fine and realistic. -
Well, there is no need for a force controlled cougar, when an x52 will do. BUT I have one of those, too.
No need for a TrackIR, either, when there is already a POV hat.
On the other hand, the real pedals are force sensing - hence my comment about interest in a force sensing version.

Hey man… first of all, thanks again for helping me out with my CH gear (long time ago), never forgot it [emoji4]
Second, what are your impressions of the Saitek combat rudder? I’m still using my CH pedals but want something more comfortable… does it worth it? -

are you sure about that?
