Solved Consistent CTD in destroying SA-2 unit in 4.36
-
Bomb a SA-2 unit where the Fan Song is located, and get CTD. Both CBUs and Mk-82s produce same result.
Might be some kind of damage model /sfx issue. -
What is “CTD” ?
-
@VDK CTD - Crash To Desktop
-
@JimG please supply the TE and full dump files

There are no dump files that I know of. Where do I send the TE?
-
@JimG see here https://forum.falcon-bms.com/topic/20866/enabling-dump-files-at-all-times-and-creating-frozen-game-dump-files
and share the TE and zipped dump files on gdrive/onedrive/icloud/mega/…

@JimG this sounded like very fun repro steps so I made a copy of TR#12 HARM training files (renamed .trn to .tac) and changed loadout to Mk-82’s.
There’s a high ridgeline about 10nm sw of the SA-2 sites, providing nice cover for lofting attacks.
LOADOUT 3: Mk-82 Starting Load 3 Fired 1 Missed 0 Hit 1 Event Mk-82 released at 21:10:38@72hit Fan Song F - destroyed
Everything seemed ok to me … nice explosion fx on TGP … no CTD.
I’ll give it a few more reps (because, fun) with various cluster munitions. But this may need more info to narrow down a repro case.

Strange bug.
For now it seems to have disappeared. -
@JimG still – if you have any crash.txt / crash.log files from those CTDs, in your
\Falcon BMS 4.36\User\Logs
folder, zip them and share them (dropbox etc). Not all bugs are easy to find and fix, by looking at the stack trace, but some are. If it repro’d 3x, it’s worth a look.
