157th Standards (2005)
-
Hey guys,
Back when we had our 157th VFS going in 2005 one of the R/L 157th guys gave us a copy of their standards. Pretty cool as we used this to really tailor our procedures to R/L squadrons. Anyway, found this while cleaning up old files on my old computer. If anyone is interested…

Minimum force size for lunch is a two ship… XD

Interesting, I especially approve of the “light drill”. One of the banes of my online multiplay existence is NOBODY adheres to this.

Yeah those were the little details we enjoyed about the document when we were using it. And like you said, getting guys to follow it was always a task!

wrong - within the limitations of BMS of course
let’s correct the above to " NOBODY you flew with"
that would be more correct -

@RD its a bit of a tease… sorta like saying that you own a dash one but cant disseminate it…
-
Nope
it’s correcting a misconception. the world doesn’t stop to what you know.
the interesting thing is the part of the world you don’t know -
Id normally agree, had Mower not been speaking figuratively.

Also - what’s gear in the well?

Previous query still applies, and I have another to add to it.
What does ‘Safety Valve’ mean in the context?
-
Not sure on either, but “gear in the well” is a common term/rule that can apply to all sorts of things which generically means if you take off then it counts. In this case it would seem that they have fines for weapons on the range and as long as you takeoff you count. Has also been use along side the “outside 60 TAC doesnt count” rule to describe a persons attitude towards their marital status.
Not sure what safety valve is, but having a look at the doc my guess is it is a generic term for a “fall back” targeting gameplan for pop up groups inside targeting range or unexpected/unsorted short range commits.

Safety valve : Who will search low when the one who should be doing it is targeting high ? Who will target a contact becoming a factor when no one else is doing it ? …
