Maximum quantity of objects allowed in an 64x64 segment theater?
-
Sorry if this is duplicated somewhere else but I did search and could not find it.
I was wondering what the maximum number of objectives (Objects) limitation is for a 64x64 theater? Anybody know?

Sounds like you’re working on something again.
I don’t know the answer to your question, but …

Sherlock, I believe the max number of objectives is just above 4000. Perhaps 4050.

I don’t have a clue about BMS coding or theater building, but if it’s known to be around 4000, my guess would be 4096. (64*64=4096)
EDIT: Come to think of it, transponders use an octal system (3 bits) and also have a max. of 4096 possible combinations. Not sure if that could be related in any way?

I would have to agree, Eagle-Eye. The second I saw Chuckles suggest 4050 my programmer instincts rounded it up to 4096.

Thanks guys. Appreciate the replies. 4096 sounds about right I think.

As far as Falcon is concerned SHE does not care how big the MAP(your terrain wire frame) is…e.g. 10 Seg or 300 Seg…yes SHE can draw them too.
The problem with >4096 Objectives comes from how SHE has to list them in 2D and how SHE has to draw them in 3D. That is a lot of CPU load between deagg\reagg and affects FPS.
Another issue with all these Objectives, that rears it’s ugly head in Campain’, is that the GU’s get confused as to where they should be heading.
The GTM is ordering me to take Seoul
GTM: Roger that, you need to go to next Bridge with 0 Supply\Fuel and Priority 10 and WAIT 24 Hours
Ummm…can’t we just go to a Bridge WITH 200 Supply\Fuel and a Priority 20 ???
GTM: No, Paths are not linked correctly, I would have to send you 200KM’s North to go 2KM’s South, I will choose a more viable entity (GU)
GTM: Sux to be U…GTM Out…LOL!!!regards

Hehe…thanks Demer. That’s pretty entertaining way to describe the situation.
