With the release of the new Aegean theater v1.5, it will be included a nice pdf for the procedure to start up the aircraft, with photos and the position in the cockpit per action.
Estimated time for the release is 3 weeks from now.

In the mean time …… more material from Reddog: x:\Falcon BMS 4.32\Docs\Checklists & Cockpit Diagrams\F-16 Checklists\Main Checklists.pdf
Steps you right through the whole engine start procedure.

Wizard’s 3 YouTube videos are highly recommended and some of the best teaching videos I’ve seen.
is the first one. -

Only if you need comedy relief! :uham: Otherwise “Krause” & “Instructor” should never be in the same sentence! (Just an honest opinion & constructive critisism from a USAF Instructor).

That’s pretty unfair. At least Kraus DID something to attempt to enhance the ability of a noob to acclimate to BMS. Even if there are short comings (and there clearly are), there is also a TON of useful, easy to find, easy to follow information.
And that’s my honest opinion and constructive criticism.

Thank you agave for your opinion & critisism.

I got the joke…and I thought it was pretty funny. Maybe you just don’t get military humor.

Perhaps …. but when the next vpilot stumbles upon BMS and happens upon this thread looking for Ramp Start help, he might not ‘get the joke’ either and assume that Kraus’ videos aren’t worth the time.

is the first one. With all respect, but what is the point to doing such operations which has no real function in BMS4? (As I know.) I mean checking MPO and similar stuff. There are no random malfunctions - more exactly it is turned off in the code - so in BMS4 all test always will result the same. I know realism also depends on player - as many times have been said Dee-Jay - but for many players these processes just make longer the ramp start because doing unnecessary things.
Otherwise it is a very good video.

doing FLCS check have already “save” me because stick can have issues. Two weeks ago, I’ve seen a problem with my rudder during the ramp start when I’ve done the rudder check.

In IMHO there are 2 types of v-pilots
The ones with good habits and the ones with bad habitsThe ones with good habits will have an easier time coping with future changes (If any)
The ones with bad habits will get more grief -

There is a lot you do not see the point in BMS …. especially when it comes to personal choices who do not influence your life …

Different philosophy perhaps Molni? Or maybe you’ve spent so much time delving into the inner workings of BMS that it’s lost it’s magic for you? Hopefully you’ll enjoy 4.33 as a pilot again, before you start to tinker
I personally believe it’s better to learn how to do things properly first and then learn what you can miss out if you want later (once you have a better understanding of what everything does). If you do it the other way and learn how to do something as quickly as possible you’ll have all kinds of problems when the fidelity improves in future versions.
Wizard’s videos apart from being very well made and easy to watch are much more future-proof as a result.

+1: for someone who keeps complaining about wrong parameters on sams etc it surprises me you see no point in doing eye candy stuff in a ramp start… :s
As the others say, some items are relevant for your own gear (even the MAL & IND LST test has added value for me to see if my simpit leds are all working for example), some just do it for added realism (why does everyone keep japping about complex missing stuff like IFF etc but can’t get themselves to flip a few more switches that actually do something in the pit when flipping them), and some do it to prepare themselves for when possible future updates will bring more working functionality. -
And you have 6+ minutes of INS align anyway…. might as well use them to do the checks In MP, you cant skip anything
-
Oh and by the way:
There are no random malfunctions - more exactly it is turned off in the code
Not true, there’s a value in the config file you can set active for that.
