My Mirage 2000 project

Having watched and record countless HAF M2k’s takeoffs 10 meters away from the AB, both day and night and in all seasons, I can state that there was no blue flame in the human eye. During the night sorties and depending the camera type/settings there have been some shots that actually display the end and outside surrounding of the flame a bit blue, but I guess it should be much easier to scientifically explain why this is valid for a camera but not a case for the human eye.

Me was in Chad and Mali with a temp about 25 to 35°c and was M2000D.

This is interesting as both Chad an Greece have dry weather and HAF use M53P2 like french Mirage 2000D. But Chad is far hotter than Greece… It would be usefull to find french Mirage afterburner pictures in Djibouti to check if engine computer settings vary from our Air forces.

Greece Dry Weather? Since when?

Greece Dry Weather? Since when?
In France, average humidity rate is between 85% while Greece is around 68%.
Compared to France, Greece is dryer, like our Mediteranean coast.
Chad is about 18%, for information. I just intented to mention that Chad and Greece are dryer than France, which is our reference as Mirage 2000 were built in France.

DJ is right, it’s only a matter of choice…
Anyway, the afterburner would be skinnable (well, it is in the current state). -

I though for a moment that what we actually discuss here have some “scientific” data in the background, so a bit more than the below quote.
But anyway it is only a skin, and anyone can do whatever he wants with this in his HDD.

It’s up to you if you want to do a skin for every possible weather/theater combination…

I don’t intend to create a debate there, it’s the only sovereignty of the author, as I mentionned before. M53P2 produces both orange and blue gloom effects. This is not a question, this is a scientific fact. And I only try to bring a piece of information on a specific point.

I just asked one of my best fiend tonight who is flying 2000D N & -5 … What is the color of AB flame …
Him: "You know … Usualy I’m seated in front of my engine … Can’t really tell you
But more seriously … Blue/orange …"
Me: “Well … That Dosen’t help me much dud! ;)”

This is a perfect example on how we focus on details that real pilots don’t. I mean your best friend has for sure been a Wingmen for some time before being a leader, and h am sure he has done countless formation takeoffs or trail departures, and … he can’t really tell you the colour of the flames …which to the guy who never flew is something very hard to understand.
If you as a Mirage or a F-16 pilot what colour the knob for this is, he may bug a bit before answering. That shows you that we try reproduce pictures we have from aviation rather than sensations, which makes sense. And this is exactly why you will always have those who want more graphism stuff etc, because to them flying is all about how it looks or how nice the shadows are.
In a 1hour flight … I remember 4 to 5 min max about the landscape, and only when it actually is breathtaking … but yeah from an artistic point of view its always nice when you have it accurate, but make compromises as long as the flame is not green or pink, lol.
Just my 5 cents.

This means Dassault succeeded to create a new color : blorange.
P.S blue or orange I absolutely don’t mind as I only fly Omanese F-16C B50 in BMS lol I simply wanted to bring some information.

Sure … But he is not trying to develope the most acurate sim ever.
-
Indeed, otherwise, he’d better hide from Dassault… Otherwise… Let you guess guys!
-
I prefer pink AB than not accurate Avionics or HUD… I think developers must spend (IF THEY WANT) some time in the Mirage Avionics!.. Hope one day I see that in Mirage for the BMS,… rather some cool nice looking AB flame!

… first of all … before thinking anything about coding something or not … need documentations and fight manuals. Without … no way to start anything.
-
I don’t prefer anything… I simply suggest time spending on researches to reach the best result.
