What database version of Balkans have you used ? with JanHas models or Alternate?
Here’s my Balkans links, and 50% tiles fixed with Monster’s tool, Alternate database with some additions, units, ships etc… , but I’ve used save2. Campaign still wip, reworked TRI file ,(playable atm)
ps. May I rip something from your database (theater) if I like ?

I did for myself, I did not keep a detailed journal.
I was engaged in changes for over a year, I don’t remember all the details. Basic described above.
Database 3.5 with JanHas, but, with later replaced by standard models.
I was looking for the cause of rare CTDs, and later found out that the reason is that the “visible” flag for external weapons AT-3 or Aim-9 is set on Chaparel, M-80, or BOV-3 models. It was necessary to refuse this flag.With the help of the Monster’s tool and Mission commander, the places of installation of factories, power plants, chemical plants, or, if the place is initially good, were changed, simply changing tiles under the established types of factories (roads were added in some places).
With the help of the editor, was changed the detailed structure of the location and the number of industrial facilities on the required tile.
As well as points for installing AAA, SAM, Artillery on this tile.
These points are also added to the main - bridges, airfields, cities, towns. Vehicles takes these points s in an orderly manner.For example: Artillery Vehicles takes artypoints near town
default factory and tile, and updated factory position (changed tile place) and added roads.
All objectives links were deleted and recreated.
Added objectives Split Port and island Refenery, Dub Port, 2Pula Ports, 2 Zadar ports on good beach ports tile. And some bridges.Database data is unlikely to be compatible with others, as there are changes (added) in the number of CT records, for example, radars for Aim-120B and 120C have different CT records and characteristics.
Industrial Plants, cities, airfields have changes in the number and location of structures.
The battalions and Taskforces have a different composition.
For example, added Roland-ADS with its radar and missiles. Added Koni frigate to FRY. KA-25 as recon - replace KA-50 attack (changed data CT records)
ATGMs M-47, Javelin, AT-3, AT-4, AT-5, AT-10 or Frog-7 are used by the AI as real missiles, not an abstract weapon.For example: Frog-7 attack

Your version (save2 +TRI file) will most likely work in this database. It just won’t use all the advanced changes.ps. May I rip something from your database (theater) if I like ?
Oh sure.
The work on the reinstallation of Industrial objects to the corresponding tiles has been completed. Or tiles for these objects.

Conducted 2 tests in 2D with a speed of x64.
In the first, the blue side won in 12 days.
In the second, the red side won in 7 days. -

i run the 2d war test at 16x, now on day 11… RED side has slight- or minimal advantage. most armoured GUs are lost due to clash of steel… i think both sides start losing the momentum to advance.
Triggers (SAVE0):
//FRY win- Control ALL of: Rijeka, Monfalcone, Ljubljana.For fun i start to “push” red GUs rolling…i use [add package] function to launch continuous, maximal A-G strike in Rijeka and Ljublijana, and successfully force BLUE GUs abandon the two obj. now i’ve Rijeka in hands and GUs closing to Ljublijana.
however Monfalcone is too far and in Italy territory! - i doubt RED side can win by its own, the AI ATO cannot generate sufficient AG strikes to wipe out a clean way to Monfalcone. i’ll let the cam run to the last. -
Alright, RED wins on Day 13, 2250.
i use [add package] to have maximal A-G firepower, wipe out all BLUE GUs on the way to Monfalcone, and order two RED GUs to capture Monfalcone … meet the win conditons timely.
PS - my test at 16x shows this cam doesn’t favor BLUE or RED side… means it could be a draw on Day 14 unless players fly in 3d/do more AG job to help GUs or manage air/land units in 2d.
Since BLUE side has more powerful air power, it should be much easier to achieve win condition. -

…wow, SpbGoro . you did great job,… I’ve never believed so many errors in default Sim database … all wrong pointers in database to .dat/.veh files … I’ve spend night correcting my own database … jeee.
You’ve edited some planes corner speed , wheel turning, chaff/flare dispensers, and thrust ratio 2.0->1.8 ?why…, aircraft mass, etc…
Repaired radars , repaired lots of weapons pointers , included Roland SAM… in a way , you could create new SWD/CT entry but used ‘Chunma’ missile with pointer to roland.veh… it works too.
I wait to test …
One question tho, … particlesys , (please post this file, it is under “Falcon BMS 4.33 U1\Data\Terrdata\particlesys.ini”) … you’ve edited some weapons to use different effect, eg. spice1000/pen (sp1000.dat) , but they use _GP750 effect , or $rocket_burst for agm65?.dat .
Is there a reason other then testing?

Some aircraft, such as the J-1 soko, will use the recording and date file from MB-339.
Accordingly, this date file was edited for the characteristics of J-1. Aircraft mass, pylons, decoys removed.
L-39ZA uses the date file and record from A-4B. There, too, the corresponding edits. Also with J-22, which uses the date file from F-102. Well, some other aircraft. EMB-312 > A-1h skirider (dat file stiil in the ltuning stage)
Later I found out that, for example, to exclude the use of decoys, they do not have to be edited in the dates of the file, but it is enough to disable the corresponding check box in the database editor. But these changes in the dates of the files remained.and thrust ratio 2.0->1.8 ?why…, aircraft mass, etc…
For example - Airplanes such as the Su-24 or Su-22(also tornados and some other AI), in the game (I think) have a very powerful engine thrust, and AI can maneuver for a long time with large Gs. It was an attempt to somewhat reduce this characteristic (thrust-to-weight ratio).
All this is still in the long tuning stage, set aside for later.
One question tho, … particlesys , (please post this file, it is under “Falcon BMS 4.33 U1\Data\Terrdata\particlesys.ini”) … you’ve edited some weapons to use different effect, eg. spice1000/pen (sp1000.dat) , but they use _GP750 effect , or $rocket_burst for agm65?.dat .
This was an optimization attempt to improve FPS. On my computer.
For example, $ rocket_BURST/Pen500 looks simpler, but also consumes less video card resources.
GP250lb/500/1000 more beautiful effect, but spends more video card resources. Especially when using a large number of bombs.The combination gives the following.

-psBombImpact _GP250lbDrop 10 bombs FAB-250 on the object.
- when a bomb just falls to the ground - it works “$ rocket_BURST”. Marked by frame number 2 on screenshot.

Similarly, with the effect of hitting missiles.

Before Day 5, i let AI control GU movement, i use [add package] function to use maximal A-G power against RED GUs. Since Blue GUs don’t make big offensive, i start to control BLUE GU movement on Day 6.
I’ve to admit it’s horribly tiresome to arrange continuous maximal AG sorties thru the war … there are over 15000( reinforcement included) RED ground fighting vehicles, and downed to less than 500 on Day 7. Without this work, i seriously doubt BLUE GUs can advance to Bosnia-Cervia border by themselves…just too many GUs and ATO can’t provide sufficient AG support !

Yeah, but, eg , vehicle difference within battalions (units) are for: NATO Armoured - M1A1 = 48 vehicles ; and FRY(RUS) Tank - T 90 = 32 vehicles ; FRY Tank - M 84 = 32 vehicles
… even NATO has flags +Allweather +Night , while FRY didn’t have that until I’ve applied them … which is logical for RUS T 80/90 and FRY M 84 , … don’t know for T 72 tho… + and for Recon/HQ/CMD units
and when you look at unit stats in db , we need a month or so tweaking Strength and Range(s) VS …, still
In my campaign count is for now, FRY 13581 vs NATO 6635 :mrgreen:
edit: There is something wrong there in that picture… seems wrong TRI objective, … Yougoslavian capital should be Beograd (in Serbia tdy.) … Sarajevo is Bosnian (Bosnia and Hercegovina) capital.
So ‘chopping the head of’ scenario should be targeted against Beograd not Sarajevo IF that was what was intended ? just FYI

Tried many times, currently on day 11, the ATO can generate missions (CAS, SCAR, BAI) itself. Action non-stop.
(Hungary and Albania went to war)

in 2d the effectiveness is lowered… you may want to check:1.Attacker ac unit -[ stats ] values to determine how effective the unit to detect/hit strength against GUs.
2.Ground unit -[ damage from XX weapon] values to determine which weapon can do more damage.
BTW the 5 inch HVAR rocket not working on J-1. you can check Nordic DB edit for reference.

Those are Cavalry units, their main role is RECON!!

If I understood well from previos editions “RADAR OPS” is targeted at EWR sites , and there they sit … doing nothing, controlling the skies, …and smoking weed…, so I’ve disabled that for cavalry units and gave recon with higher percentage to HQ units , they are weaker then Cavalry which can fight better, have anti-tank weapons and tanks.
