Mission Commander beta release

Hi Falcas!
I have a little feature request if you got some time to spare (yep, who really have some time to spare, but anyway…)
I would like to have MC be able to create and edit the squadron list used in campaign selection screen to populate the map with airbase and squadron to be chosen.
In TacEdit I can do it with the menu function “fix/update squadron” if I recall correctly (I don’t have tacedit with me now), and can edit them in the “campaign” section, but can’t delete records or move them up or down, so I don’t have complete control over them, and sometimes it’s a problem for me, since I would like to have complete control.
Thanks for your dedication!I don’t think you can do this with with TacEdit. There is a function “Rebuild Squadrons”, but it only makes sure that the change you made to a squadron will actually work.
Can you explain what/when the list will be a problem for you?Gr Falcas

@Dead:
Nice.
…then we await the fixed release.
You mean like this:

If you’re referring to the BETA 0.3.3.0, that’s the version that led to the Falcon CTD.
We simply added squadrons and edited the squadron number in MC, nothing more. When we opened the TE up in Falcon & tried to add a flight, it would CTD every time.

Did you click on the link?

A page that links me to a program I already have?

That is hard to believe, as it has just been updated to 0.3.4.0

Edited……
Last page refresh spat it out. I see it there now

Now I’m in front of TacEdit, and the function I meant in my previous post was exactly “Rebuild Squadrons”.
In “Campaign”->“Airbases” tab I can review all the squadrons and make changes to patches, their base location, etc. and I can see all these changes in BMS in the map on the campaign selection screen.
In MC I can see the various records, but can’t delete/alter them, in tacedit I can edit them, but can’t delete them.
It’s really not an essential feature and I can live without it, but I would like to be able to edit these fieldsEDIT: Big thanks for the new version btw!
EDIT2: Also I have another feature request (I promise I will shut up after this one), is there a way to export a couple of unit instead of the entire list? (maybe I can’t find it though)

Why can’t you make changes to Squadrons (or any other unit) in MC???
Just double click and you can do almost everything that you want with a squadron.
Including changing patches and location ect. You can even change the type of aircraft that a squadron uses.Gr Falcas

Amen.

I do that and it work very good! But sometimes I need to edit those field to change the airbase location, etc. and I would like to delete some lines if I the need arises!
Anyway, is there a way to export only some unit instead of the whole list? Maybe selected ones? -

With MC there is no need to delete any line or change anything manually.
This is the biggest cause of corrupted missions and this is why you can not insert or delete any values as a user.
This gives the best guaranty that everything works correctly.
Beside that it is much more user friendly. But if you could give an detailed concrete example where you would like to delete a line?
Which fields are you revering to?
Moving an airbase? Why would you want to do that?
(ps, I don’t mind discussing this. If you have a valid point and it is possible it will be included)Anyway, is there a way to export only some unit instead of the whole list? Maybe selected ones?
Yes, this would be possible. However, I don’t see in which way this would help.
Adding a unit is done very quickly in BMS itself.Gr Falcas

Beside that it is much more user friendly. As I’ve read your lines I came to the conclusion that exactly as you say this will bring a lot more harm than good, so nevermind, it was from the start only a cosmetic addition.

Adding a unit is done very quickly in BMS itself.I need for example to export some units or objects from a Save0 to a TE, or some flights from a TE to another TE, etc.
Can do that already for objects with edits on the exported CSV file, but with units I can’t do that, usually I need to work-around these limitations in TacEdit also, and sometimes it’s pretty annoying and time consuming, so I was hoping for a quicker way to do that. -

TE used here
It’s hit & miss. Some will allow me to open the page, but others generate this error.

Thanks for the report and directly supplying the mission file!!!
I’ll have a look at it.
There are some other bugs like these that I have to adress.Gr Falcas

Then import them into a different mission.
I can see that this will help mission builders, however, this will take some time to implement correctly.Gr Falcas

Bug?
While working on a custom campaign, I noticed that MC can be used to change squadron patches.
However when doing so, the selected patch is not what is shown when the campaign is started.

With custon campaign, you mean you are working on one of the save*.cam files?

I think that you have to wait until all the flights of the old squadron disappear (cancelled or completed) to see it
