Mission Commander beta release

Hey Falcas,
Any chance you could help me here? Quite often, MC doesn’t allow me to change objectives because of the following error:
“Objective not found in ObjetiveDelta list, can’t change the status for now” (just noticed the slight typing error, by the way)Currently using 0.3.9.0, but has been a bug for longer already. Only now thinking of asking here.
Reloading the TE and/or restarting MC has sometimes fixed the issue for that particular objective, but usually (>95%) it doesn’t. Only way I’ve found to manually add an objective to the Delta list is by flying, damaging/destroying some part of the objective and saving the TE again in-game. Is there a quicker way in MC, that I have yet to discover? For your information, this is the error code I get when I open an objective that can’t be changed.
************** Tekst van uitzondering ************** System.IndexOutOfRangeException: De index ligt buiten de matrixgrenzen. bij MissionCommander.fclsObjective.CheckObjDelta() bij MissionCommander.fclsObjective.fclsObjective_Load(Object sender, EventArgs e) bij System.Windows.Forms.Form.OnLoad(EventArgs e) bij System.Windows.Forms.Form.OnCreateControl() bij System.Windows.Forms.Control.CreateControl(Boolean fIgnoreVisible) bij System.Windows.Forms.Control.CreateControl() bij System.Windows.Forms.Control.WmShowWindow(Message& m) bij System.Windows.Forms.Control.WndProc(Message& m) bij System.Windows.Forms.ScrollableControl.WndProc(Message& m) bij System.Windows.Forms.Form.WmShowWindow(Message& m) bij System.Windows.Forms.Form.WndProc(Message& m) bij System.Windows.Forms.Control.ControlNativeWindow.OnMessage(Message& m) bij System.Windows.Forms.Control.ControlNativeWindow.WndProc(Message& m) bij System.Windows.Forms.NativeWindow.Callback(IntPtr hWnd, Int32 msg, IntPtr wparam, IntPtr lparam)
Cheers,

What you want to do is correct, and it should work.

Things you can’t do with TE (or al least not that easy)
Note that these thing are most helpfull for TE building.Clone a flight.
Move a squadron to a different AB (Everything in the background is taken care of)
Change the type of AC of a flight (Everything in the background is taken care of)
Add a carrier and place a squadron with a couple of clicks. (if the carrier is added to the objectives)
And some things to ease the user like the link to OglLod to view the entity you are looking at.Just to be sure, is this a list of things that currently can not be done in MC?
I’m asking because I don’t have any issues with cloning a flight or changing squadrons to different AB’s, but I do have troubles with changing certain type of AC. (which, according to OP, should function as of 0.3.7.0; at 6000+ characters, the error report is too long to be posted on this forum, so you can download it here. TE I noticed it in today can be found here)
Fighters don’t seem to be a problem (only F16 variants are available though), and I can change squadron aircraft types with ease, but when I try anything else (cargo/tanker/AWACS/bomber flights) I get the error report. When clicking to proceed, I get a blank list. I have tried and confirmed this on 2 computers, testing multiple TE’s, using both MC 0.3.8.0 and 0.3.9.0 (error reports are identical, except the MC version obviously, as far as I could find)

Just to be sure, is this a list of things that currently can not be done in MC?
Nope, it is a list that MC can do.

Might be a little bug. Have looked at your report and tried your TE but can’t reproduce it. Works fine here.
Altough code has been changed, so it might that this specific thing has been fixed already.Check your PM.

Note for everyone: Do not use MC with Redflag 4.0. It will not work currenlty. Maybe in future, depends on Falcas

Oooopppssss…
Good find m8!!!
Why is that?
Falcas uses known released theaters database? doesn’t MC use the theaters DB, objectives etc?
-
Why is that?
From what i can see it has to do with MCs ability to read externalized Art folders (or content) and the theater name in Tacedit itself, which is REDFLAG and not Korea for my theater.
There might be other compatibility issues, maybe….has to be found out still, but currently MC is not able to work with RF, thus my note above.Falcas should be able to locate those issues and answer your quesitons better as inventer i believe.
Tacedit 2.47, F4browse 2.31, LOD editor 6.10 and latest Terrain Editor Version do work with RF!
(Oh end BMS editor, but that one i only used to fix some Phd datas (Hart-Site) and some other bugs on korea objectives, like negative elevated Hospital buildings or with flickering tarmac lights with changing POVs…etc, etc, and other stuff) -
well My q comes also as I work on Aegean v2.1 and that maybe we will face the same problem…

Don’t worry Arty, Aegean works fine.
A.S is screaming fire and being very tactless. But if he wanted to be a little bit productive, he would have just posted a little report about what is going on.
And would have had a fix in a very short time.
That said, if you look at the first post where it says the latest version… you can read that it says beta. This mean you can use it a you like.@ A.S “You catch more flies with honey than you do with vinegar”
Gr Falcas
ps,
The status is at the moment… The RF installer does not install on my system as I don’t have 4.32 installed. And the RF installer does not install on newer BMS versions. -
@ A.S “You catch more flies with honey than you do with vinegar”
.whilst I wont argue the usefulness of that bug report, I will point out the inaccuracy of that idiom.
have you compared honey and vinegar to catch flies with? they have this overwhelming tendency to go for the vinegar. …
sadly the same is not true of forum moderators!

A.S is screaming fire and being very tactless.
Not true at all. I don´t know why you see it that way. I only posted the note in order to avoid people running into problems with RF+MC.
My post was constructive not competitive ! Cant deal with the “critics” hah? It wasn´t even criticsBut if he wanted to be a little bit productive, he would have just posted a little report about what is going on.
And would have had a fix in a very short time.I did, go back post #289 … it says there

and more reasons i dont know. Maybe you find more as MC developer.
@ A.S “You catch more flies with honey than you do with vinegar”
Thats not my job…its yours for MC
And the RF installer does not install on newer BMS versions.
Not sure what you mean by “newer BMS version” - 4.33 perhaps? Redflag RP6 V4 theater is 100% compatible with 4.32 Update 6.

@A.S:
Not sure what you mean by “newer BMS version” - 4.33 perhaps?
What else?
After installing 4.32 and RedFlag, the bug was found in about 5 min… Installing BMS and RF took a lot more than that.
Update will come soon.Gr Falcas

MC_ver0.3.9.5 seems to be working fine with Redflag 4.0. Thank you very much.
Edit: Add Battalion and double-click objectives causes Error of some sort.

Hi,
0.3.9.5 released, see first post for the updates.

First thanx for the new version.
Question
Ver: 0.3.9.5
- Changed, If MC finds double use of CampId in Objectives and Units, it will automatically change the
the CampId for the Unit.
This means it changes the theater file? Wouldn’t that create MP problems?
- Added, Compare between Falcon selected theater and theater in the mission file.

What do you mean with theater file???
Here is what it does:
Every objective and unit (flight, squadrons, battalions ect) have there own unique nr, the campId.
You can understand that this number can’t be used 2x.
Objectives (airports, city ect) already have thisnumber assigned in the saveX.cam or te_new.tac. For units, that are not already in the saveX.cam, these are created while falcon is running.
MC checks if the campId used multiple time and is so, it will automatically change the campId for the Unit.
No need to do anything or worry about. And does what after Compare?
- Added, Compare between Falcon selected theater and theater in the mission file.
When you select a different theater in BMS, you can see that the list will contain different options for the same theater.
For example, the default Korea theater has multiple scenarios. They (could) all have a different database.
However the name, which is saved in the mission file, of the theater is always Korea.
This way MC might be using a different database. So if MC spots that the theater name in the mission file is different from what you have selected in BMS itself, MC will give you a question and you can choose which database MC should use.

te_new.tac is a theater file.
The change that MC does goes to this file?
