Mission Commander beta release

te_new.tac is a theater file.
The change that MC does goes to this file?In the te_new.tac, there are no units. So there will be no change.
The check is also done between Objectives. If it finds double IDs for Objectives, MC will only report it, but not change it.
You have to do this yourself. If you load a mission, for example MySavedTE.tac, the units are save inside this file, not the te_new.tac
Changing the campId for a unit, is a change in the MySavedTE.tacGr Falcas

Found a small issue in MC (0.3.9.4 and .5) regarding the load-outs:
BMS Loadout for 1 of 2 aircraft.
MC Loadout for both aircraft.
Loadouts can’t be changed in MC (yet?), so I realise it’s not really relevant for now, but would be nice to maybe see it fixed one day, if possible.

I have to take a look at that one. That should be correct as that is directly taken from the saved file.
Which brings me to the first question. In your example, was the loadout in BMS saved and after that you loaded the mission in MC?Gr Falcas

Affirm. First save loadout in BMS, exit BMS, load up mission in MC, loadout is different. Then changed some other things, saved mission in MC, load in BMS, loadout is as intended.
So something is probably off in the save-file reading. My best guess is that it only reads the loadout of aircraft 1, and disregards aircraft 2-4?

I am trying to make a static DPKR AAA batallion, defending a village, but it refuses to adopt an static formation and it appears in line.
I have it linked to the village, I have used “Place Batallion at obj”, unchecked moving, orders AIRDEFENSE ( and a lot of other options and combinations…) but I always get the batallion in line formation. Any idea?
Thank you
Daisan

This might have been answered before but…
…has the ability to change units, bases, etc to different owners been taken away after the campaign has started? And the only way to change them is using the save.cam files? I hope that isn’t the case because the ability to change owners on objectives, units, etc on the fly was great for custom campaigns where the campaign maker has full control.

Could I change the Action and RouteAction of a flight? If not, it’s possible to include on the next release?
Thank you very much for your very good work.

Although easy to add, at this moment it is not a function in MC.
I just wonder why you would need that?
If you need change it you will be doing this when you create a mission in BMS itself. There you can change the action as you like.Gr Falcas

Hey Falcas, I have a question about adding a squadron to an AB in campaign. I’m trying to add an F-16AM squadron to Osan AB in Rolling Fire, without deleting the A-10, F-16C-40, and U-2 squadrons that are already there. I went into Mission Commander and successfully added the F-16AM squadron, and Osan AB is now showing as having 4 squadrons (A-10, F-16C-40, F-16CAM, U-2), however when I run the campaign all squadrons except the new F-16AM have been removed. I double-checked Mission Commander and it still says there should be 4 squadrons at Osan, yet only 1 appears…

check that the squadron is not under south korean forces, happens all the time even if in MC you specify US.

That did it. Kind of. From the main campaign screen the 36th FS has disappeared. It’s still there along with the A-10s and U-2s, but if I wanted to join it I would have to do so from the OOB.

I’ve been itching to try the Iris-T

I love the norwegian paint job !! looks so clean, very clean, i like the way they wash their jet, looks so immaculate.

Hi, and thank for your attention. I think it’s faster and easy to modify this values in the Flight Unit window, because I have all STPTs insight in one fell swoop. So I can check the entire flight progress.
And also would be nice to be able to change the altitudes of the STPTs.

Just found a very minor issue in MC 0.3.9.5. Marked the bug in red on following picture. In-game, the time is correctly set to 06:56:00.

Hey Falcas,
would it be possible to post the formulas you use to convert Falcon X/Y coordinates (both the km-based format and the foot-based format) into the BMS decimal degree format and back? It is quite evident that one “short” X or Y unit (km) equals 3280 “long” units (ft) regardless of latitude and longitude, but I have not been able to figure out how the BMS decimal degree coordinates tie into this.
Cheers.

Hi,
It has been some time ago that MissionCommander got a released update.
But that does not mean that work has stopped, even better a lot has been done.
One thing I like to point out what will be very useful for everybody.Did you ever wonder why you see a specific skin of the F-16 when you add a squadron to a TE? Why does the ROK Squadron in the campaigns do have the correct skin?
Can’t we set the skin we want if I create a TE for an online game?
Yes, that is all possible. The default skin that will be used by a squadron depends on the name of the squadron.
However, this also depends on the CAMO.cfg file and even some F-16 squadron names are hardcoded in the Falcon code.To see and change the default skin, select the squadron you want to change.
In the “Default Skin” box you can see what skin is currently the default skin.By using the “View Skin” button you will get a new screen where you can see this default screen and have a look at all the skins this model has.
Clicking on one of the pictures will enlarge the picture.
Merry Christmas,
Falcas
