OF mods: JanHas, realism patch?
-
It’s been a while but after hammering hard at the main gear model I can now say the heavy weight gear for the block 40->52 is FINALLY done. It’s a monster…! I’m pleased with the result. All parts use one 4096 size skin. Next is finishing the skin of the F-16 and thinking what block I should finish first. Either the RNLAF, which would require some tweaks to the gears or the block 52C. The 52 will require some tweaking of the parts behind the seat and the engine… If no real issues arise a finished LOD1 model can be ready between 4 and 8 weeks… While I’m skinning the last parts of the outer skins you can hopefully enjoy the screenshots…

AN UPDATE!!
-
I’m done with creating the parts for the block 52C model. MLU cockpit parts are swapped for block 52 parts. I added the USAF ladder (upgraded model from the one’s present in the Ground Support Equipment) and added a better version of the tail I created for the F-16D. I also added an improved afterburner flame and the 229 engine feathers. Next thing to do is fixing the outer skin. It still has the D skin… I’m also thinking of adding a better helmet too, I have a better model on the shelf but it requires some additional tweaking. Would require about a week to finish it. I still have not added the separate main gear model because adding that would hamper working on the model in LE too much…

Well, I take the impertinence for a minor criticism, since no one else seems to do it:
Jan, big respect, but IMO the afterburner looks too pink, ironically the same for the HUD (says me, pink HUD fetishist). Most shots show a rather greenish to green with reddish pink glow from the front. Not talking about inside here.

That is what Red1 once called a “back handed compliment”, ;).Well, not meant to insult and I may be wrong, as usual.
Looking forward! -
Great looking model mate the cockpit has been upgraded nicely! I wonder if we can get those details into the flyable cockpit?
Love your work as always although not sure about the coloured HUD and afterburner.

Some references for my previous comment:
Dawn.
And lot of closeups as well, high rez as well, Polish and USAF F-16s, at 04.00 and from 10.00 onward you can see CJs close up. Nothing pink there.
My point or interpretation of videos seen:
The USAF rather brownish to black tinted HUDs from the outside front rather appear colourless…not speaking of CGs there, Block 50/52s.
The F-16s with inside pink to brown pink tinted HUDs rather appear bright greenish on many videos on the outside front.
You can also check that for French Rafales e.g., which have pink tinted HUD overlays.Cheers
Tom

HUD is WIP. And each block will have its own HUD color version, as per rl.
AB… wait and see…
