MP discrepancies between players ?
-
Hi,
I experienced a strange behaviour from Falcon, in MP.
In 2 different flights I’ve done (one TE and one campaign flight, both on KTO), one aircraft disappeared from my point of view. Other people in the flight still saw it but not me.It disappeared in visual, radar, datalink and radio message menus (when it was an AI).
It happened with a human pilot (another package) and an IA pilot (wingman on my flight).
The other people in the session still saw the “missing” aircraft, and I was in the case of the AI able to hear the tower talking to him when we landed.
We made 2 ACMI on the flight where the AI disappeared, and they show what we saw : no clue of my wingman on my side, and the aircraft visible on the other one.
Incredible, isn’t it ?

Without more technical details we’re unable to help you: how much clients, BMS bandwith settings and internet connection speeds of clients and host, “dubious connection” YES/NO, bms config settings …
-
There were 3 humans each time (server and me were the same, the last human was different).
Server :
21 mb/sec download
3 mb/sec upload
Ping : 32 ms
BW in BMS : 1700Client (me) :
18 mb/sec download
1,75 mb/sec upload
Ping : 24 ms
BW in BMS : 800We were using IVC and were all in P2P.
-
3x800 bytes makes 2400bytes so your server BW should be least that plus more for ivc …
-
We were 2 clients and a client/server.

Oh, sorry
Are ports open?
Maybe you should try bit more for clients , say BW 1000?
-
BW settings far too low
-
Really ?
I did read on the forum (or C6 perhaps) that 500 was a minimum.
What’s the value that is, for you, the minimum to be ok ?
-
As host I’m setting BW at 7000. As client, no less than 1024. My up/down specs. are very similar to yours.
-
There’s an extensive debate on this matter ongoing here, it seems that 1024 or 2048 gives good results for the majority of the people.

Thank you for the feedback.
Anyway, it would be useful, if the MP code drops objects on purpose, to :
- Inform the clients (message on screen ?)
- Giving priorities : losing wingmen is not normal, the MP code should drop nearly everything before dropping other human (or same package IAs) pilots from the player’s bubble !
A priority is probably given to the code, but it obviously doesn’t work as it should. And if 800 is that much too low to allow the MP code to even react correctly, you should consider setting a low limit to allow a MP connection ?

500-800 is good for small TE’s so no need to limit

Small Te’s like few targets or like few clients?
