Online Squadron Collection v2 is out

Thanks Arty, but I still can’t find an option to show all the flight data (most importantly aircraft type and number) - is there a way to do so?
-
Displaying aircraft type and number is currently not implemented.
-
Thanks Monster. Are you planning to implement more info about the flights or is there a technical barrier that prevents this?
-
I don’t see any obvious technical difficulties to implement this, since type and number are already there on the tactical map in BMS. My only hesitation is regarding realism, but this feature might compensate the AI limitations in F4AWACS.

Monster may I make some suggestions - requests for validator? from our discussion here: https://www.benchmarksims.org/forum/showthread.php?17640-M61-A1-Cannon-System/page13
Another easy cool way would be to ask Monster to adjust his Validator tool and do this. Example: validator run and create a file with hash or whatever is better of those crucial files - settings and then crosscheck them with what u have on the server side. Also do this every x secs or minutes as u set it. Meaning upon request validator clients recreate the unique file and check. Finally have a popup on a specific ip u declare to inform if something ain’t as it should.
Even this is hackable but it’s a thought. To make it bulletproof from the validator server side could be used a unique password that will send to clients and have to be included in the files the validator clients will send back for check. That way the user can’t create a file to fool the server check.
Am I wrong? or something has a hole in the above?
I believe Monster will give it a try if we ask him.
Any thoughts anyone?

Ability to see IFF transmitted codes per plane…
But wait, we don’t have IFF yet in bms…
//Move on…

There is a feature to validate everyone from the server side, by request, just not a timed one. In theory, the one that has access to SQServer, could make a final validation when everyone are in 3D.
The reason I didn’t make it to validate clients continuously, is that validating, especially large files is CPU intensive. Since Falcon is CPU intensive as well, clients could experience some lag.
@Raptor: lol…
-
well Monster some cheaters change files during flight or right just before the mission starts. Also someone must not fly to do the test during flight, not to mention that using the remote control application to do so u take cpu and bandwidth from the server side. Having it timed and able to message a validator client when en error comes up will be better also nice would be that those timed checks could log and easily inform u that at the xx check an error was found and point u to look at log file. The last is good to do after a flight in case messaging can’t be done or both could - should exist.
About cpu well most of us have more then one core nowdays also could u add an option to run the checks in low cpu priority?
wow I ask too much… sorry.

The easiest fix:
Review tacview in the debriefings, and if something is different than default:
Ban him for life from your v-sq.

I am thinking a lot about IA data. Would be possible get data in semi-real time from an ACMI file and put it in F4AWACS?
Thank you!
-
I don’t think reading a file that someone else has opened for writing (Falcon) is a good idea. Furthermore, you need to ensure that ACMI is active for that to work.
-
So why are my planes off? They are not matching the ground on the 2d map of Falcon, instead being to the side.
I believe this is because of some alignment errors between the game and the AWACS screen, but how do I fix that?
-
If you’re talking about AI planes, make sure your bullseye is correct. You can find an option to load the bullseye from a tac file somewhere (Falcon tools? I think).

I was thinking about it in the past too. But ACMI file was hold in memory (+ perhaps some data written on hd, but encrypted) in older Falcons. The ACMI itself was written down when leaving 3Dworld, using mentioned temporary data. So u should have temporary data decoder to acess the info…

Hi Monster,
first of all, thank you very much for your mod!!!
At the moment we make multiple controllers in our squadron. One question: Often it happens that the KI Traffic changes automatically there callsigns and friendly/bandit status.
Is there a way to prevent this?Best regards

Hi Bumerang,
sorry for the late response, but RL issues are a bit pressing this period…Regarding your question, I’m afraid that, since the AI data are read directly from Falcon memory, along with other “garbage”, there isn’t much that can be done about this. In any case, the id was added as a suggestion only, and it’s not to be trusted 100%.

Thanks for response Monster:D

A feature request:
would be cool if there is the possibilty for an “auto connection” at least of VALIDATOR and AISPY, maybe it could be included in an upcoming release
-
Can you please give some details on how you imaging this feature should work? Isn’t the phonebook entries something similar?
-
The phonebook is a very useful tool and facilitates the connection to the SQSERVER host. In our squadron the SQSERVER always runs on our dedicated 24/7 gameserver and this IP is never changing.
With autoconnection i mean when a client starts the VALIDATOR or AISPY it will auto-connect to a given entry of the phonebook with the right BLUE/RED setting and no further user input is needed beside starting VALIDATOR/AISPY.
