Hmmmmm
Migs with guns
Runways with 107s
Sam radars with mavs
TRIPLE A!!!
Harts
They are all fun
But landing with a clean jet is the best no matter what the weapon isOk, I’ll admit it’s even better than Star Wars. Use the Force, Luke. Maybe next time, Ben.
I’m surprised bombs in general fall that much behind me, as if my speed didn’t count. I would word it differently in French, but I suppose you get what I mean. I’d expect to have to launch these ones way earlier to see them fall there.

That’s pretty much the point of a retarded bomb like the BLU-107, or AIR or SE variants of Mk-82/84. They lose speed fast to allow the launching aircraft to drop them from very low altitude and not blow up with them.

My fav target for guns practice is a head-on Mig-21, because it’s the smallest thing I can think of. If I can gun down a Mig-21 in a single pass, in the face, then I consider myself to be sharp with the gun…which I’m not right now, because I haven’t been working da skill set of late.
I like to straffe too, but once I got the hang of that with the Viper I pretty much got it. Works fine, lasts a long time. As long as I actually obey the PULL UP cue…

A-ha, I thought only LDGB did that, I should have a closer look. As for the -107s, I thought the way it damaged the runway, so to speak, left the launcher safe, but what I saw behind me rather left me grateful, about the delayed explosions. Thanks, ô Maître.

LDGP is Low Drag General Purpose - emphasis on low drag. They are the opposite of retarded munitions like AIR or SE variants. If you ignore drag completely, bombs land directly below you (assuming you dont turn or otherwise accelerate). Retarded munitions have a lot of drag, and so land behind you a long way. LDGP bombs have little drag, and so land a little way behind you.
The effect of drag is magnified with time of flight, so the higher up you are, the longer the bomb is airborne without power assist from the plane, and the further behind you it lands.

Damn, I mixed the definitions. I read too fast in the manual and remembered “low” over the rest. And I see it’s LDGP and not LDGB now. Edit: maybe not after all, I knew I had seen it somewhere, standing in that case for Low-Drag Gravity Bomb. Thanks for the heads up.
Don’t want to pollute the topic anymore with that, sorry gents.

yeah MK84 LDGP(low drag general purpose) fly ahead of me
