BMS (4.33&4.34) F-16 skin New PSD templates
-
@Red:
these are alpha channels
their placement is on the tail ddshttp://www.ravico.com/ST/BMS_433/Report/Skin/skin_lod.png
look up 2903, 2904, 2905, 2906 in the example above
you can see their Matching shape and the dynamic data they haveOf course the DDS number will depend on which skinset you based your project on, but look up the tail file and you will find these area in the alpha channel layer
hmmmm new tool we see… Nice…

it’s a copy of the image posted in the first post back in 2016 …
See first postthat’s exactly how urban legend starts
-
well for me it’s new.

Would anyone have the .PSD blank for the F-16I 52+ CFT?
-
define Blank?
F-16I exists only in israeli wraparound, is that what you want? Or you want a grey one (my definition of blank, it a non camouflaged one)
If so the RSAF birds are the same -
define em branco?
F-16I existe apenas em envolvente israelense, é isso que você quer? Ou você quer um cinza (minha definição de branco, não camuflado)
Se sim, os pássaros da RSAF são os mesmos [/ QUOTE]I would like only the features of the fuselage to be able to create another skin with the features of the correct fuselage.

Do 4.33 skins work in 4.34? Im guessing not??
-
The templates from this topic are the same in 4.33 and 4.34, except for the addition of the pitot which was porked in 4.33 and has been fixed in 4.34 (the first post have the correct 4.34 PSD templates - including the pitot)
DDS numbering may have changed in some cases, but the skins are still the same - provided you use stock 4.34 models of course

None of my old skins work in 4.34 and LODEditor throws HDR error on opening. Clean 4.34 install.

Check the DDS number with Mission commander
Make a TE with the aircrfat you want to Apply skin to
Open MC, load the mission, go squadron tab and click the view skin buttonThen note the DDS number, these might be different than in 4.33
renumber them and place them in the Koreaobj folder (backup originals)If that’s not your problem, then you need to tell us what is the symptom of your skin not working?
What aircrfat, what symptoms … -
Sorry for saying it does not work. LOL It does not show up. I will check dds numbers.
-
Thanks Red Dog! Yes the dds numbers have changed.
-
And thanks a lot for all from a noob like I am from me too, Red Dog.
Most useful instructions, and well detailed too. With best regards.
-
can someone make empty dds files? i don’t have photoshop so i use gimp to edit dds files
-
Thank you Red Dog for this wonderful file ! I have modified a skin and saved the dds file. It is working in game, but I’m not certain I am saving it correctly.
The original DDS is 1.4mb. The one I am saving is 1.0mb.
I am editing the files on a mac, since I do not have Photoshop on Windows, so I have added a plugin in order to be able to open this file type.
The file is 1024 x 1024px, 72dpi in both cases (original and modifed)When I save it is asking me the following details :
Can somebody point me to the correct settings ?
Thank you very very much !
-
All the DDS can be saved DTX1 except the tail and both top wings
Top wings, save DTX3
For the tail:
If you have no transparency in the alpha channel (badges on the intake, serial just behind the nose, or eagle behind the canopy) save DTX1 as well
If you do have any transparency in the alpha channel, then Save DTX3If you don’t know what an alpha channel transparency is, you probably didn’t make one and therefore, save DTX1
-
The original DDS is 1.4mb. The one I am saving is 1.0mb.
Additionally to what Red Dog said, you want to save all your .dds including “Mipmaps”,
so I would enable that, … not sure about your “filter” though.
Cheers, :yo:

Thank you both for your answers !

No, I don’t know what a transparency in the alpha channel is.
I have a layer that has transparency, but not sure it’s the same ?Additionally to what Red Dog said, you want to save all your .dds including “Mipmaps”,

LSPerfect, will try and report back Thank you !

LSOK, DTX3 compression and mipmap makes a file of 1.4mb, the same as the original, so I guess that is the correct setting
