I am having similar problems to what mantaray showed upon opening a tac or cam file, however no amount of reinstalls or reboots have fixed it yet:

I’ve cleaned directories after uninstalling - even rebooted in between. Also tried adding install dir to the system path so it could find the dll but no go.
Any suggestions?

Hi Falcas,
I am using WDP again after a long time and I want to thank you for this awesome piece of work. It is indeed a great addition for any Squadron willing to thoroughly plan a mission.
Great job!

When trying to install, I get this message:
-
And for me, the same problem occurs, while with the 3.4.4.1 version I had no problems. I tried to uninstall previous (3.4.4.1) version and install new, and tried to install new over the existing, but still the same error occurs…
-
Yep, you need to install Visual C++ 2010 as it reports. The installer will direct you to the install.
You can also get it here and install it yourself.
http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=5555It is a part of .Net that you need.
This version of WDP has been upgraded to use .NET4.0.
You need both installed.Gr Falcas

But we already have installed Microsoft Visual C + + 2010 Redistributable Package (x86) and it’s latest. See?
“A newer version of Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable has been detected on the machine.”
Component Visual C++ 2010 Runtime Libraries (x86) has failed to install with the following error message:
“Asia”The following components were not installed:
- Microsoft .NET Framework 4 (x86 and x64)
The following components failed to install:
- Visual C++ 2010 Runtime Libraries (x86)
Why installer just don’t let us to coninue installation if it finds that there is a newer version of MSVC ++?

Ok If you have the C++ installed that is fine. But you have to install the .Net4.0 as well.
Than you should be fine. -
During own tests, the installer directed me to the .NET files installed perfectly.
In case that doesn’t work.
.NET4

Hello Falcas,
first of all thanks for your work on the new version. I installed the .net4 framework that you linked to above, but I still get the “a newer version of … has been detected when trying to install” message and the installation fails.
Any other ideas what could be wrong? I’m on win7 pro 64bit btw.
Cheers, Uwe

Hi,
Ok, stby for a sec. I will upload a new installer that is not checking for the installed .NET.
This way you should be able to install WDP. However you do need .NET4 or else it will not work.
I will do a new post if the file is up.Gr Falcas
-
The download is up again. This installer will not look for the installation of .NET4 and Visual C++ 2010 redistributional.
Makes sure you have those installed.Gr Falcas

I was able to install WDP now, but after loading the mission and country selection isn’t possible to write packages number …

Did you select the correct team first?
This is a new function. You first have to choose the team you want to join. ROK or DPRK for example.
The ones you can join have green text on the button.gr Falcas
