it’s working now as expected as far as the node tree in LE looks like it should,
and all nodes are shown in OGLLOD veiwer.BUT the switch states are not switched insim.
There I see switch state #0 only, and as long as the engine is not running
my propeller is jittering horrible.I’ve looked at differently models in LE regarding their propeller animation,
and they are using DOF#31, DOF#32 for the rotation and SWITCH #10
for the switch states with it’s subtrees and nodes.Those parts of the structure of my node tree looks exactly like theirs.
I’ve also tried to add script’s to the ROOT in 3DSMAX and LE.
BTW, does the ROOT in 3DSMAX have to be linked to anything?Then I saw that the engine animation of the A-10 also don’t use a script,
so it should work without using a script, right?So … any ideas why my switchstates are not working insim?

I do not believe that the switch states are working properly for non afterburner fm’s. Switch #0 does not begin to use branches unless the first figure in the Thrst3 table of the ac.dat file shows an increase. The increase can be very small (e.g. from 16500 to 16500.1); however, the switch states then will not show up until the very end of the thrust spectrum (i.e. after burner).

Robert, I’m using switch #10, just like the OV-10A in the stock DB.
But the OV-10A is using the complex propeller script.The A-10 has the same node structure for animation, but is using no script.

LSYes, but look at the A-10 and you never see it change states. Take a look also at the C-130H which is set up the same. It never uses anything but the first switch state of switch #0.
Try changing the thrust table and you should see it work. Either that, or copy and paste the F-16 (non-AFM) thrust data and it should work.

Yeah Robert, I’ve noticed yesterday that in fact the switch states even don’t work on A-10, OV-10, C-130H,
but the propellers do jitter horrible when the engine is’nt running while using DOF#31 and DOF#32.
If I use just DOF#40, then there is no jitter, … so I was about to give up on the propeller animation.Now there is new hope, but I don’t understand why you are talking about switch #0 again,
whereat for this kind of animation switch #10 is used.Cheers,

I keep getting an error report and 3DS shuts down whenever I try to export a .lod file.

is there a way to get this plugin working with 3DS max design 2013?
I keep getting an error report and 3DS shuts down whenever I try to export a .lod file.
I believe I tried it and had troubles??? u can check on previous posts if u like or in Pinky and Brains thread…

It seems “Design” will not work properly, so better use “normal” version.

not sure what I am doing differently, but it started working… had to change unit size to feet, but that was after it started working…
with my internet connection the way it is, I am glad I did not have to download another program. this makes dial up seem fast…

for 3dsmax 2014 version, when it will be released?

I haven’t been in a hurry to add another version to the list of supported versions.
