Hi
a useful tip for some if you’re in the same situation: not running TrackIR all the time (hot running little piece) and it prompts me for UAC everytime … so I’m now using Windows 7’s Task Scheduler to fire up everything that’s needed.
start Task Scheduler
select “Task Scheduler Library” and choose menu “Create Task”
Name it “Falcon BMS” and select
“Run with highest privileges”
select tab “Actions”
“New”, “Start a program”
Program: cmd
Arguments: /c start “” “c:\Program Files (x86)\NaturalPoint\TrackIR5\TrackIR5.exe”"
This starts TrackIR and doesn’t wait for it to terminate
“New”, “Start a program”
Program: “C:\Program Files (x86)\Falcon BMS 4.32\Bin\x86\Falcon BMS.exe”
Arguments: -window
This starts Falcon BMS without launcher and waits
“New”, “Start a program”
Program: taskkill
Arguments: /F /FI “IMAGENAME eq trackir5.exe”
This stops Trackir after Falcon BMS terminates
Test-run this task via right-click & Run
Create a new shortcut on your desktop with
Target: C:\Windows\System32\schtasks.exe /RUN /TN “Falcon BMS”
This runs the task, adjust text/icon as desired
Add more steps like running a joystick load-profile activity (if your joy supports that) - an alternative to batch file.
Cheers
