Ok I think I managed to reproduce it at least speed wise. When the aircraft speed falls outside the following speed limits, the bombing range scale disappears:
JSOW-A: > 562 knts or < 373 knts
GBU-31: < 280 knts

@GrEaSeLiTeNiN - One possible cause: You must maintain a certain minimum speed.
Yeah I did check my speed, it was usually about 400 knts.
Hi, I am probably doing something amiss. In AG bombing mode with say a JDAM, the range cue (that scale/bracket on the right side of the HUD) sometimes disappears as I approach the target area. I have to fiddle with the SMS bomb selection or something then it reappears. I can’t quite figure out how to replicate the issue. Is there some parameters I need to keep to prevent the range cue from disappearing?
Thanks
Hi,
I have v1.07.2 installed. All works fine except if I time accelerate in the mission UI page, it often crashes out to the desktop. Is this ‘normal’ ?
Thanks
Old thread but the shortcut is still not working in 4.37U2. Not a biggie but SP shortcut could be useful. (Using LMFD OSB 8 binding for now.)

@GrEaSeLiTeNiN AI can datalink you ground SPI. You can’t ask AI #1 to do that because you don’t have the ability to command him. He’s your commander, not you his. If you’re his commander you can demand it of him. Right now he does the ephemeral FCR-SOI type datalink point which is the asterisk on the display that goes away in a little while not the HSD-SOI persistent steerpoint.
You can transmit to AI but it doesn’t do anything in the AG context. I’m pretty sure the AA context assign 1-2-3-4 buttons will cause the AI to attack that DL assignment but I’m not 100% sure. You can use the radio “attack my target” just by slewing a sensor over a target. This command represents communicating in normal plain language what you want him to attack and isn’t electronic in nature. You can even do it with padlock if anyone still uses that.
Thanks for the tips. Just tested (4.37U2) - XMT to AI wingmen (when you are lead with preset UHF 6) still does not do anything. Would be cool if it did. Was just thinking - if the AI wingmen could respond with the slew cursor over FCR target + radio comms method, could it not be coded to also work with XMT 1,2,3 ?

Glancing at the source code, it looks like it nukes all your existing key bindings and loads the ones from the selected file. (yikes, if true … I haven’t tested it)
Oohh… which part does that? Changing keyboard bindings in Auto.key?
@Atlas yes I’ve tried those on a few occasions in the past but my voice just doesn’t work too well with voice activation software. What works really well is just simply mapping the unmappable in AL (radio menus in this case) to joytokey and running it in the background. I guess I’ll stick to that, was just checking if I missed something in AL. Thanks
Thanks!
For QWERTY, I map them to my throttle hat using JoytoKey running in the background. Perhaps AL could have incorporated such a workaround.
Yes, there are a couple of other files AL writes.
I think it’s just a ‘filter’ like if you are building a pit, use the pit.key one, but if you want to see all possibilities, use Full.key. Then what you do bind via hotas buttons/switches, it gets saved in Auto.key. I haven’t actually changed any keyboard binds in any of the key files (only did hotas binds) so I am not sure what happens if I do that. I suppose it just updates the keyboard commands in Auto.key.
Hi, I am new to the Alternative Launcher but it’s so much easier! compared to how I use to manually edit the key file. Big thanks! A couple of questions though:
I cannot click and assign the RADIO menus Q W E R T Y. Is this hardcoded and not assignable to my Warthog hotas?
Hotas buttons and switches I map are not saved in the key files except the “BMS - Auto.key” file right? Because I noticed the “modified date” of the other key files in the User/Config folder have remain unchanged.
In the mapping interface top left, selecting which “KeyFile” only serves as a reference for you to map the various commands. You won’t actually modify any key file except the one saved as Auto.key. Am I right?
TIA !
Is pretty screenshot broken? I’ve set it to 1 in the falcon bms.cfg but all labels and text are still showing up.
I have Reshade. I am not sure if it affects and disables pretty. But BMS and Reshade make their own screenshots into separate folders.
I might have been spoiled by the external aircraft sounds in DCS but does anyone find the latest BMS external F16 aircraft sounds nerfed? Listen to a subsonic or supersonic flyby and it sounds rather ‘weak’.

I did. Doesn’t answer the question unless I missed something. I’ll just go look at the BMS/Docs folder.
Docs are updated to U2 in the documentation wiki. But it says “Falcon 4.36.1 documentation” which will be fixed ASAP.
If a docs reads U0/U1 state, nothing has changed for U2.
Noted with thanks.
@danster said in Shortcut callback "SimRadarSnowplow" not working (4.36 U1/2):
@GrEaSeLiTeNiN Perhaps try the call back for the appropriate OSB ( no. 8 I think)?
Yes I had to do that. I used the callback for OSB 8 on the left MFD since FCR is usually on the left MFD. The Snowplow shortcut callback is still bugged in U2. Anyway, I think it is better to use the OSB 8 callback since it actually presses the button. I suspect if the Snowplow shortcut had worked, it would activate only after SP is highlighted (ie. pressed before) like how it is for CZ (cursor zero). That means it’s a SP release function, not a toggle.

Hi,
The change log for 4.36 U2 says the documents have been updated. But the link to the online manuals shows only the 4.36.1 documents. Will they be uploaded later? Or, I suppose they will be in the BMS Docs folder following the update install?
Thanks
Hi,
I can’t seem to get the shortcut callback “SimRadarSnowplow” to work in 4.36 U1/2. I am using a Warthog Hotas. I have it in my BasicDX Warthog key file as (stick, shifted):
#H3L (DMS Left)
SimRadarSnowplow 269 -1 -2 0 0x0 -1
It was fine in 4.35 U3. Is this a known bug? Anyone else have this problem? Thanks!
Update: Yep, not working in U2 also.
You can download the corrected file.

Place the file “instant.cam” from the archive in the folder:
\Add-On Mideast128\Campaign\
Hey thanks! Instant and Dogfight working great now
if you choose the ace level they will shoot for sure and it will be very hard to do a strike with them flying. Make sure you choose Ace (it will say medium level). SA’s are aggressive too, and if they don’t shoot it would be because they are busy shooting another target. MIG-25/29/23 will definitely come after you. Once I had to add so many sweep missions on the way to the target just to safeguard any bugger, that was in addition to the escorts I added. Early in the campaign it is very aggressive but as you destroy their runways they are softened more.
Ahh I see… I must have missed that. I went with the default setting, thanks. Will try.
