RE: EA6- prowler/A6 Intruder version
Would love to see a nice A-6 Intruder. I spent my Navy career fixing them and Prowlers. Miss the old bird, but not the exfoliation corrosion

RE: UH-1 Iroquois series
Need about 50 of these landing below me in the Vietnam map
Nice work!

RE: New 180 degree screen
How many projectors are you running? I run two Optomas. Does your picture look grainy, and are getting any gamma issues at your blend point?
I run 2 BenQ 2150STs. Nothing grainy and Gamma is fine at the Blend, I think the darker screen is helping there. Only thing I donāt like about two is any bump of the projectors screw up the alignment which is very noticeable when the line is directly in front of you. Three PJ s is much better in that respect.

RE: New 180 degree screen
Are you using simpit Warp or another warping software. I have an Icarus 180 also, but am not currently using it because Iām thinking about getting another warping software. Donāt really simpit warp.
SimPit warp is just Fly Elise rebranded. I just went with Fly Elise Immersive Display and Immersive Calibration Pro and saved money.
Thereās not a whole lot else on the market. NTHUSIM got bought and closed (well brought in house and no longer public available) . NatVis Tru View is Fly Elise rebranded

RE: New 180 degree screen
Very nice! How did you make the screen?
Actually picked it up from SimPit Tech in New Zealand. Shipping wasnāt bad. Its all laser cut MDF frame and fits nicely in a smaller box than I thought. Putting it together is interesting. Screen is basically a thick rolled plastic with a dark grey matte coating on one side. It does make the colors pop and since the PJs are so close you donāt lose much in brightness

RE: New 180 degree screen
Hey Arty, Iām getting up there myselfā¦.having the big screen means no glasses
Not enough screen for a third PJ, but with the dark screen and FlyElise Blending, so can barely see the overlap of the two PJs

RE: Block 30, 40, 50 vs 52, 42
Does anyone play the Block 32/42 much?
No, since they are Pratt engines they are always in Maintenance

Morocco new buy will be GE -129 powered so they will have a mixed fleet.

RE: Confused: F-16V, F-16 Block 70 and F-16V Block 70ā¦.
@mhm:
Hello tbuc,
I have some information but I did not confirm my knowledge too. F-16 Block 70 is a version that prepared for Indian Air Force and some other countries like UAE. The naming should be F-16E-70. So you are right about that. V version is the upgrade of C/D versions of F-16. There are some fuselage and other physical differances between Block 70 and V version. I hope this helps.
UAE has Block 60ās and the only ones currently with a -132 engine (Non SLEP core)
Right, all official Lockheed Martin documentation calls it the F-16V
So Bahrain are getting new F-16V Block 70 or 72 depending on engine choiceā¦ā¦but also having Block 40s modified to what it calls F-16V configurationā¦technically they would remain as Block 40s - maybe F-16V Block 40.
The brochure for Greece has F-16V stamped on itā¦again will be mostly upgraded older blocks.
Slovakia are getting new builds so F-16V Block 70 or 72 depending on engine.
The Simulator has Block 70/72 on the side of it and the standard engine choice for new builds was the same as the Block 50/52 AFAIK
None of the new Block 70/72 are based on the Block 60 but on the Block 50 instead.
The new Indian Block 70 (not to be confused with the old one from a years back) is called the F-16 Block 70 because a major difference is that it has been offered with the GE-132 engine (despite again not being based on the older Block 60 like the older one was)
Taiwan will essentially have F-16V Block 20 I guessā¦the block number has always denoted its original manufacture not a capability level.
So not confusing at all really
Bahrain will be Block 70ās, engine choice already made (-129Dās)
The -132 offered for the Block 70ās for India are a slightly different version of the -132 and would have a SLEP core.
Quite a few other active campaigns going on at the moment

RE: Virtual Reality (VR) and BMS.
Anyone have experience with Pimax?
I am looking at getting a Samsung Odyssey or Pimax (better FOV and resolution) for my 1st VR head set. It seems like Odyssey can work with BMS, at least functioning as a monitor strapped to your head. Odyssey seem like an all inclusive device that I have been looking for, 6 DOF with 1 to 1 tracking and OK resolution (reduced screen door effect) in one device. I have a very small area for gaming and donāt want to clutter it with devices (trackir and other sensors). Having 3D objects in stereoscopic effect is not important as long as the device can function like a monitor in game.
Iām not trying to put down Pimax, but a real concern I have about Pimax is that it is a small company in China and they might be just trying to capitalize on the VR buzz to make a quick buck. Their hardware seems awesome, but does software for the device play an important role in VR (I donāt know much about VR yet)? If so, would Pimax keep supporting their product once itās out, or are they going to move on to their next (more profitable) project/hardware? If software is as important as hardware for VR devices, I donāt want to have a very expensive paper weight after 1-2 years of purchasing the device.
I am a backer of the 8k Pimax headset. Seems we are getting closer to delivery but they have blown through some expected dates as expected.

RE: Israel 1980s - UOAF edition
F-4 with f110??? When did that happen??? I know israel was making some experiments but egypt allready had them???
Just kiding. We where talking about phantoms my friendĪ£ĻĪ¬Ī»ĪøĪ·ĪŗĪµ Ī±ĻĻ ĻĪæ SM-J500F Ī¼ĪæĻ ĻĻĪ·ĻĪ¹Ī¼ĪæĻĪæĪ¹ĻĪ½ĻĪ±Ļ Tapatalk
Yep, corrected as I didnāt get the first part of the discussion. Canāt do much for you on F4ās. Only a few dozen cans of J79ās laying at a few locations and all TACād out.

RE: Israel 1980s - UOAF edition
Accurate Egyptian serials is a level of detail that I am really not worried about. haha youāre on your own there.
The IAF skin looks great!I could probably get those
At least for the F110-100 powered ones as Iām the GE rep for them
(oops you were talking F4ās I guess, all the J79 birds are retired so that would be an issue)

RE: Triple 4K
I can help - save you with the waste space from those 1070.
Iāll take the burden and ease you from taking valuable space from your premisesā¦ just sent them over to me. I can take it. :lol:They are happily hashing away at 32 Mh each in another rig creating ethereum and earning their keep.

RE: Triple 4K
Grabbed a GTX1080ti to test with, but will wait until next week as Iām building a new i7-8700k system for simming, last few parts arrive Friday.
Will see if I can get the FPS high enough to remain in 3x 4K for missions over cities, etcā¦.
