@wsy I don’t think there is a real reason for the rwr to be restricted in size. It’s probably a leftover from a time when it messed with the layout of the other components.
Feel free to create a PR with the changes and the layout file.

RE: New free MFD/ICP app to control Falcon BMS from touch devices
@drillerman52 The app should not randomly crash because of you interacting with the screens.
In the next release the app will support different ‘screen layouts’, one of which will put all the ‘devices’ on a separate screen. Thus you could have two tablets running, one displaying the left MFD and one the right MFD.

RE: New free MFD/ICP app to control Falcon BMS from touch devices
@pyhg Yes, the new one-device-per-screen layout will expand to fit your entire screen.
Good to hear you got it working with the standard love2d apk, this means my instructions in the README were somewhat understandable.
I will release a new version with the predefined layouts as soon as I find the time. I might also add an option to load one (or multiple) layout from the server, so people can customise it on their BMS machines and the client does not need a new release for a new layout.

@greatcouloir Not sure I follow, that would dim the buttons and turn on the ‘lighting’?

RE: New free MFD/ICP app to control Falcon BMS from touch devices
Quick question: I am currently working on adding predefined screen layouts, so that users can choose whichever they would like.
This is the current list of pre-defined layouts I can come up with:
- default landscape layout: two screens, MFDs and ICP/DED, landscape
- default portrait: same as above but portrait MFDs
- one device per screen: Left MFD, Right MFD, ICP/DED
- everything on one screen: mandates a different button layout for the ICP, but some people might like that
Can you come up with another layout, that this app should have?
Later I will likely use the same feature to enable custom layouts, but I have to get the gestures to edit and place things like MFDs right first…

falcon-bms-control
is now open source on github: https://github.com/kungfoo/falcon-bms-controlI’m more than happy to review pull-requests if someone wants to dig in.

RE: New free MFD/ICP app to control Falcon BMS from touch devices
@hoover I have been off-grid and mostly offline for a solid 1.5y, but now am online more or less again. I’ll continue to work on the app in the near future. I want to add a feature to support creating custom layouts and remembering them in the app settings. Once that is in place, I can see support for gauges being possible.

RE: Android DX Buttons?
@foxster yeah, the jury is still out on the udp socket that accepts callback messages (password protected or signed messages).
-
RE: Android DX Buttons?
So use some OSC tool on Android to send midi messages, then use something like https://midikey2key.de/ to create key presses or dx button presses.
-
RE: Android DX Buttons?
@Sabre you might be able to do something with touchosc and joystick gremlin. I cannot verify that right now, since I’m away from my BMS machine. If nothing exists, I might write a small tool one day that allows converting midi note presses to dx buttons.

RE: Virpil CM3 Flaps lever.
@Croa I do exactly the same, gear handle and slider as zoom.

RE: NEW WINWING ICP
@Predator-23rd said in NEW WINWING ICP:
Now that we have a F-16ish ICP the unanswered discussion about WinWing MFDs comes to mind, i.e. https://forum.falcon-bms.com/post/383826 .
In case they work fine this combination might be interesting : https://eu.winwingsim.com/view/goods-details.html?id=547I may gift that to myself once I’m back to land based life and 4.38 releases.

RE: New free MFD/ICP app to control Falcon BMS from touch devices
@Bluestar that should be irrelevant. Can you find out if both of them are in the same subnet, i.e. both ip adresses start with
192.168.10.x
If that is not the case, try disabling server discovery by entering the server ip address in the app settings (cogwheel, bottom right).
And make sure you actually run the addon server app and allow it in windows firewall.

RE: Virgil Warbird base with TM grip axis curve
@MudDog I was using a virpil warbrd base with a small stick extension (maybe 2 inches, iirc) and the warthog/f16 grip and found it to be perfect. Are you sure you’re using refuel gain, i.e. the refueling door is open?

RE: New free MFD/ICP app to control Falcon BMS from touch devices
@wazza69
0.0.0.0
is a special network address and means ‘listen on all interfaces this computer has’. If you had multiple network cards connected, it would listen on all of them. It’s absolutely the right address to listen on.
If the app worked before and stopped working now, there’s almost certainly something that has changed with your pc and/or network, since the server and app network code has not changed at all since almost the first release. -
RE: New free MFD/ICP app to control Falcon BMS from touch devices
@jc1 that’s okay, sometimes computers and networks are weird. Glad it sorted itself out.

RE: New free MFD/ICP app to control Falcon BMS from touch devices
But your tablet is connected via WiFi?
-
RE: New free MFD/ICP app to control Falcon BMS from touch devices
@jc1 It has to be something special about your setup or network. Are you sure that your router is not blocking connections from the wireless network into the wired network (sometimes configurable as
wireless protection
? Do you know the ip range of the devices on the wireless network, because I expect they are different subnets. -
RE: New free MFD/ICP app to control Falcon BMS from touch devices
@jc1 - are you running the server?
- are you sure the ip is correct?
- did you allow the server process in Windows firewall when promted?
- did you allow the app to connect to the network in ios?
