Just a question but if you are building a theater for a Red Flag event shouldn’t it be where the actual Red Flag events are carried out?
Eielson and Elmendorf-Richardson AFB are the airbases and the Yukon MOA’s are the area of operation.

Not trying to be that guy here Ranger but……
Las Vegas is over 1000 tiles…thats just one area and with the limit of 4096 tiles this is a real problem. Not to mention that the more tiles you add the more performance degrades. My Nevada theater had just over 3000 tiles with 3 photoreal areas as well as numerous transitions in the desert and in it and in its infancy the theater ran at 80+ FPS but by the end stages it was at 30 FPS, it was no where near completion either.
There would need to be massive compromise on the theater creators parts as to what would/could stay and what was not needed. Personally I think focusing on 1 area like Las Vegas is the way to go. Photoreal that whole area then spend the rest of the time working on making the desert and mountains pop. Then take an assessment of the theater (ie. performance and looks) and decide whether to add more or not.
Also for me it was important to make an actual Nellis airbase out of tiles, something you could land on and taxi out of. We were able to accomplish this at Luke and it really added extra immersion as it wasnt just a stock Falcon airbase but it was actually Luke.
I may be in on this theater again but would need to have a meeting via teamspeak to iron out the plans and how to move forward. Also would need at least 4 to 8 people as the theater team to work on the different aspects of this theater. It truly is all just talk until we all get together and start generating results.

I gave this theater over a year in 4.32 and can tell you from personal experience it is almost impossible to generate this theater with the amount of areas everyone wants photoreal tiled. The map is just too big.
Although with a team of people it might be, at the very least decent theater……

Was thinking about tiles and sets ect. Within the tile set limitation what do you think we could do to make it as realistic to this as this terrain map? CATE ideas for shading and scripts? Should I just do initial tile with Korean 4.33 to start? Anybody have a CATE script for that?
Texture map from Google Earth.You cant make a realistic Nevada, it looks extremely generic when flying it in game. Trust me this theater is not a realistic possibility you simply do not have the needed time to do, maybe a group like FO could but I doubt they really want to hassle with this theater. Sorry man but as a guy who put over a year into this theater it simply is too slow of a process

Still doing some research. I was able to get the PMC campaign into 4.33 and fly around a bit.
I understand what Lawndart was saying more now. The reason this theater is so repeative is the sheer size of the land. If you look at the theaters that work best they all have large bodies of water that take up 30-40% of the map. This allows you to have less repeative tiles on the land.
Scale of the map will be the biggest thing to determine.
Ripper I think I want you to come over to my TS and have a chat about what you are up against in this theater I would love to help you or at least donate some of my work but I have to check with a colleague first as we did a joint effort on this.
I will PM you the 27th TS info you can let me know when works for you

Guys this theater is not a realistic theater ATM. The tiles get too repetitive in this theater. As I have worked on and released a version of Nevada it is not even worth the time or effort. My Nevada theater is still on my hard drive but I am not going to waste time in converting it to 4.33.

Same problem here, graphic just a little better but to much loss of performance… I also move from 60fps 4.32 to very bad performance 4.33… Also just hope to get rid of crappy tiles…

Tiles have very little to do with your frames it is a 2d flat image that requires very little rendering.
Your post does not list your system specs (CPU, RAM, Graphics card). Also what are your frames tanking to?
I am still running solid frames I was around 120 4.32 and on 4.33 I am around 90 so there was some drop but for my system it didn’t matter. Also anytime you add additional monitors you can expect performance loss. Sounds like a rendering issue just based on the vague post I would recommend what Arty said turn off trees and grass.

X55 Problem
I just got my X-55 and I love it, however I dont love the programming software.
Has anyone had an issue when you create a key push for a button. Then you go to test the profile and you get no key push???
This is a real annoying problem.
Any ideas I would appreciate your help
