Just a suggestion based on observation. Many fliers on other forums are confused by the discrepancies between HUD symbology in the pictures in the training manuals and what actually appears in their HUD during the mission. Pictures depict newer avionics while the training missions utilize older Blocks with the older HUD symbology. Many people are mistaking this for a bug or error.

RE: Skin Artist for simple correction
Not quite so easy because the Swamp Fox that goes behind the cockpit is part of an Alpha Channel that requires the original .PSD to properly edit.

RE: 4.33 Issues (Known or not)
Texture issue that I already mentioned but I have discovered the problem. The German Tornado IDS has two texture sets; gray and green. However, the cockpit/wings model (2667) only has one texture set; grey.
I was hoping to add a second texture set to fix the issue but could not find a way to.

RE: Tornado bugs
Also the proper paint scheme in the German IDS is not visible from the cockpit. The wings and intakes are just gray.

RE: Turn Off Gforce Simulation on head?
@Lobster, have you seen videos of the Thunderbirds doing 4 point rolls? Its realistic to have your head thrown out of whack, as you put it…
Not specifically, but in most videos I’ve seen pilots just rotate their heads to compensate. Unfortunately the TrackClip Pro is absolute crap for roll inputs.

RE: Can i get 4.32 HDR back?
On a related note, considering the pilot’s visor is the HDR sun realistic? Or is the non-HDR sun realistic? I’ve found that with HDR off I have greatly improved game performance but I miss the “blinding” property of the sun.

RE: Turn Off Gforce Simulation on head?
I believe that is actually due to the HUD drifting and not from head movement. But I’m wondering about any kind of G-related head movement as well. Lately when trying to do four-point rolls or a knife-edge pass, rolling 90 degrees and kicking the rudder will throw my head out of whack and it really distracts me.

RE: 4.33 Campaign Play
How do you start up the Tornado, by the way? There’s no documentation and I couldn’t find the battery switch anywhere. I found just about everything else though.
Also disappointed the German camo skin isn’t visible from inside the cockpit.

RE: [4.33] flare.ogg
Something isn’t making sense here……An .ogg file is an audio file. Are you talking about the sound that’s played when chaff or flare is dispensed?

RE: Confused on AoA readings and the gun cross
Now I’m even more confused. I’ll see if I can get shots where the FPM is visible in the HUD. In the screenshot I posted I was fairly certain that it was at the bottom of the staple (15 degrees) since it was visible in the HUD while about 1 degree above the bottom of the bracket.

RE: Confused on AoA readings and the gun cross
In general, with no sideslip, and with the DRIFT C/O switch in NORM, the angle between the gun cross and the FPM is the AoA.
That’s where I’m messing up! I was thinking the AoA was the angle between the gun cross and the horizon line for some odd reason. Now it makes sense.
With the FPM at the top of the staple, the center pedestal AOA indicator should show 11° AOA. Is this not the case for you?
It’s showing close to 11 degrees, right at about 10.5 degrees. But when I put the FPM at the bottom of the staple the indicator shows 12 degrees when the same position in 4.32 reads 15 degrees.
Here’s a screenshot, Dee-Jay.
I know I’m not actually landing, but attempting the same in 4.32 showed 15 degrees on the AoA indicator, so I’m wondering why it isn’t here in 4.33.

Confused on AoA readings and the gun cross
I must be misunderstanding/doing something wrong, but the AoA bracket, AoA indicator, and gun cross aren’t matching up for some reason. With the FPM on the AoA bracket at 11 degrees the gun cross is showing about 8 degrees and the AoA indicator is showing 10.5 degrees. With the FPM at the bottom of the bracket at 15 degrees the gun cross is showing about 11 degrees and the AoA indicator is showing 12 degrees.
Testing the same in 4.32 I’m mistakenly using the gun cross as an AoA estimator, so scratch that. But in 4.32 when the FPM marker is on 15 degrees AoA bracket the AoA indicator shows 15 degrees, while in 4.33 it shows 12 degrees. What’s going on there?

Feedback Dash-1 BMS 4.33
May have already been reported but I noticed the description of the AoA bracket in the BMS -1, page 104 is backwards. It seems to be a left over error from the 4.32 manual as it appears in both the 4.32 and 4.33 manuals. However, when talking about landing on page 163 the description is correct.
Edit RD: corrected in next version

RE: Can this alt be correct?
Check your HUD panel and make sure the ALT switch is set to OFF.

RE: Skins not applying
That solved the issue, thanks. I wish the manual had been a bit clearer about that.
-
RE: Skins not applying
They are the correct texture numbers. 100% match with the texture set list. They also appear correctly in LOD editor’s texture viewer.

Skins not applying
I replaced some tail flashes with those of other squadrons, and manually opening the .dds files in Photoshop confirms they have been replaced, yet in-game the original skins are still applied and the new skins do not appear. How do I fix this?

RE: Mission Commander beta release
Disregard; had to edit the Setup.ini file for MC to find the proper 4.33 file path.

RE: Shimmering on coastal areas with ATI
Well there’s my problem. I made a CCC profile on the wrong .exe. Working fine now.
