@lemonides Honnestly I’ ve had bad perf on the ground in bms and then most of my flight was nice and fluid.
Question is, what are you able to trade in terms of ground fps vs visual in flight…

@lemonides Hello, I had a setup very similar to yours except it was an i9 9900
same gpu.
I remember that ground operation was giving very bad result too.
You will often experience terrible fps on the ground (unless you are the only plane, you can setup a TE and see by yourself)
How is it going once in the air or on the landing TE?
That’s a big resolution in steamVR, I would completely disable the antialiasing and reduce the resolution in ssteamVR as low as you can tolerate.
Sadly the ground is very heavy on perfs, I guess that might be optimized at some point
@terminus Great Work! Looks simple and efficient
@MCDeedle Yeah I hate it too.
Thanks for answering, It’s just good to know as it’s a TE everybody have and people are not surprised that they have poor fps following a guide like yours. If someone one day tells me “I’m having 90fps solid in there in VR without ASW” I will reaaaaally be interested ^^
@MCDeedle Thanks for the indepth answer
How many FPS are you having in the TE benchmark when you join on taxi?
Do you have ASW on?
@scottd5800 yes helios is on my secondary tactile screen, I disabled the mirror view in vr.
@scottd5800 sorry, I didn’t get what you asked. I think the jitter (that I also experience) is due to the camera refresh and the sync with the game. Not really a way to avoid it right now.
do you have the line with RTT in your config file to populate the mfd’s? is that what you mean by viewport?
I think there is a limitation in helios where it’s only refreshing half of the game FPS, and in vr it can get quite low, especially on the ground.
I did play with Vsinc on and off and it seems to improve it a bit (not sure why)
Did you completely follow the setup guide for ice’s profile? If you are using a different one I can’t really help as there are a few ways to get data into helios and I don’t know much about it, that profile worked directly
Yeah, VR is crazy…
@scottd5800 Hello,
I’m using Ice’s profile you can find here :
https://forum.falcon-bms.com/topic/20238/ice-s-falcon-bms-profile-updated-for-bms-4-37
You can’t be in Mirror mode, you need to right click on your desktop >display settings and choose extend this screen instead of mirror.
Be sure to read Max’s post for a few VR improvement:
https://forum.falcon-bms.com/topic/23871/couple-notes-to-vr-users
As a note, this “solution” requires one more layer “VR Reality mixer” that’s a payware and as Max said above to me we won’t need that software for U4.
I would suggest you to try to get your vr setup smooth first, then have it smooth with helios running and only then try the mixed reality stuff. It takes time to optimize VR and I’m nowhere near close to the performance I want so I can’t help on that part.
@SemlerPDX Brilliant… Sorry, it was a bit too easy
Thank you for your quick answer this seems to be perfect and I won’t destroy other’s immersion by repeating myself 3 times on the coms.
Happy Holidays and thank you for this wonderful profile.
@SemlerPDX Hello!
Is there a way to bind multiple push to talk? I would like to use VHF UHF for most commands but I would like to use another one that would work with all of those.
Example:
[UHF_key] “Texaco 1, Viper 1-1, Done refueling”
If the command works, no issue but if it doesn’t I would like to be able to push another key (that won’t transmit my voice to players) to just repeat the command “Done refueling”.
Is that possible?
Thank you!
@Gavlar50 Perfect, happy for you! Just be aware that as I understand your setup you shouldn’t change any key or axis in falcon or that will mess your setup. Always use the alternate launcher to avoid any issue
Enjoy this crazy sim!
@Gavlar50 Hi, this is my location to the alternative launcher (AL):
C:\Falcon BMS 4.37\Launcher\FalconBMS_Alternative_Launcher.exe
Yours should me somehow similar.
@Tumbler31 Good news, thanks for the feedback!
@suhkoi69 Yes I know, your issue is cosmetic, it’s a string in the DED. I’m not sure the implementation is directly linked to it. Those are 2 issues that need fixing, but I have no knowledge of the fact that changing VRP to TGT in the DED will fix the logic with the HSI. I let that part to the devs
Thanks Mav, @Tumbler31 , could you please look into this when time allows? Thank you!
@Mav-jp Hello, I’m not sure who I should tag here, this is quite an old post, do you think somebody could look into this? It’s still an issue.
Thank you!
@Hunter-0 That’s just a bug… It happens… When it’ll be fixed we will get back at destroying theim don’t worry
@Hunter-0 The bug was found by @Mav-jp yesterday. You can read more about it here:
https://forum.falcon-bms.com/topic/26319/jammer-questions-can-t-lock-a-jamming-aircraft-until-10-nm/39
Long story short, you can’t burnthrough a jammer if you are head on before 10 NM.
I’don’t know for your F-22 questions.
@MCDeedle I don’t have a link cable and people keep telling me that it’s way better than with airlink or virtual desktop. When you say the battery life is good, how long can it run with the link cable? I would like to know before purchasing one. I’ve heard a lot of complain about the battery life and we can play very long mission.
Thank you.
@Mav-jp This is simply crazy. You guys are nuts. Thank you very much for the time and work you put into this…
