“Left the ccp as is in auto calibration and went flying… Sluggish response…”
Why are you using that beautiful FCC3 bit of kit in Auto Cal mode?
😕
Seriously, auto cal has to learn every time you fly as to your stick deflections, quite literally on the fly. So it’s going to be sluggish and sometimes peaky until it’s had enough stick input to calculate an average… And start all over the next time you fly (can’t guarantee it reads the cal data from previous CCP startups)
Rather, and this is how I fly the FCC3 and FSSB-R1, set the CCP to manual calibration, then calibrate and save its values, then point to that as your profile upon load up. Im stretching my memory banks here, but I thought that the FCC3 installation instructions recommend manual cal also.
In my biased opinion, never run in auto calibration mode unless you’re just uncomfortable with running the manual calibration routine. In that case, you should have a habit of teaching the auto calibration full deflection in all controller axes while sitting in the ramp or before firing up BMS with the CCP running.
