Can't reinstall BMS 4.33
I am having trouble reinstalling BMS.
I am mounting the falcon 4.0 ISO, and then extracted the BMS setup, but whenever I open the setup file, it gives me this error:
“The registry entry points to a folder that does not contain a valid Falcon BMS 4.33 install. Please restore the missing files and try again or remove the registry entry (HLKM\SOFTWARE\BenchmarkSims\Falcon BMS 4.33) to be able to install the product again. Path: D:\Games\Falcon4.0\Falcon BMS 4.33”
I go into regedit, and I can find no such registry entries…
UPDATE: found the reg files in the wownode portion… deleted those and viola

Futur Theater Beta POH 0.8.0 (WIP): compatible wiht BMS 4.33Do u have a link to the futur theatre? It’s not the same as EMF is it?

Append your keyfile with this. If BMS refuses to recognize these keys, you’ve got to recreate it by hand or do your own mapping.

Right Base Bottom Right - Aileron trim rightI’ve assigned the DMS controls so that I don’t have to fumble with CTRL+Del/End/PgDn when I need to manage SOI. You might want to assign the aileron trim controls to these keys and use the entire right side of the stick base for radar cursor controls and TMS up and down.
Or experiment with the pinky shift control. Could be that you can use it to assign another set of controls.Thanks for the tips. It gave me something to work with. I realized that I wanted DMS controls, but not necessarily the autopilot stuff. I wanted buttons for actions in high workload situations, and managing the autopilot usually isn’t one of those IMHO.
I love this stick btw. So smooth and accurate. Wonder why more people don’t use it over the 3D pro.

I agree with Viking. My brother had one and I tried it out and tried tweaking it to get it to work. Center resistance on the spring is just way too strong.

I was kind of surprised to not see a sub forum on this joystick. Anyone use this for 4.33 and have a profile for it?
I just picked it up yesterday to compare it against the Logitech 3D pro, and I am loving it so far. The resolution is amazing. Will have to get used to the small throw on the throttle, but I think I’ll figure it out. AAR was real smooth and was able to stay connected in the turn even.

RE: Logitech Extreme 3D Pro - insufficient deadzone for rudder
I am surprised that the only fix for this redder problem is to disable the rudder axis. I get the “flutter” as well randomly throughout flight when the rudder axis senses any movement even with the deadzone on high. Has anyone else had luck with pointing that profiler to the the game and manipulating it that way?
Update: I downloaded the compatible version of Logitech Gaming Software which has the 3D Pro profiler in there. Had a little trouble point it to the correct exe file, however for those wondering, it’s in the 4.33 root folder, bin, x64.
I set the deadzones and sensitivities for the all the axes and I couldn’t be happier with the results. The rudder is no longer a problem! Woohoo!

After hitting JFS 2, and the engine spools up to 20%, Move the throttle to 50% or so, hit alt+i, then bring the throttle back to idle. This should get the engine starting up

Yes sir. I even broke lock, reslewed, and TMS up again… And it goes to IR Point for a moment, and back to IR area

I have the same problem with the GBUs using the laser guidance. Everytime I try to reacquire the target on the 2nd run, the TGP won’t stay in IR Point mode. Even after multiple attempts with TMS down to break the lock… Still trying to figure this one out.

Don’t feel bad, RushM. BTW, the Dash -1 manual pp 144-152 has a really good and indepth section on Ramp start. And, the “main checklist” manual has a more checklist looking checklist
Thanks I appreciate that… Believe it or not I am a real world airline pilot getting back into simming… So the “checklist” looking checklist will make it much easier to use than the other one I found Haha. Thanks!

Yes that is likely it. In order to get the RPM past 20% I have to put the throttle halfway up, hit alt+i for the idle detent and then snap it back to idle… When I hit alt+i with the throttle back, it doesn’t want to move to the detent.

I do the whole startup, Taxi and takeoff… Fly around for a bit, do some loops, go inverted and the engine dies and I can’t figure out why. Sometimes I’m even straight and level and it does the same thing. Plenty of fuel as well.
This is the old block F16 so not sure if it has something to do with that… Any insight?
I am new to BMS so I apologize for the noob question.

Im a real world Airbus pilot and used to play f4 over 15 years ago in high school… Now a friend got me into this just as 4.33 dropped and I am utterly amazed. This is so awesome and yes the free aspect seems to keep this sim focused on those who are passionate about it and their wants in the game. Nice to see the commercial things that bring others down stay out of this
