About the “naked” blu, is the configuration on the -1-2? No, so not a valid weapon load. No ballistic calculations, trajectory, not even tested during separation that the naked round can actually leave the pylon without crashing into the plane.

Interestingly enough the Greek -34-1-1 posted on Blu’s site ( http://falcon.blu3wolf.com/Docs/HAF-F16-34.pdf ) does have a lot of safe escape calculations for BLU-109/Bs and various diving ripple releases etc (which do NOT sound like guided releases) starting at page 3-286 (or page 1140 of the PDF).

MLU -34-1-1 has a preflight checklist and diagrams for an unguided BLU-109/B (I 2000) Penetrator bomb in it in the Normal Ops section. The weapon is listed separately from the GBU-10/24/31 versions. Document is not available online however.

As I said in my earlier post on page 2: I do not see why anyone would use it that way as its target set requires high accuracy…

Oh and the MLU -1-3 does include the BLU 109 as a separate weapon, including 2 authorized configs.

It can/could be put together as an unguided bomb. I have no idea why you would want to do that though as the very nature of its target requires high precision. Would only expect to see it as a GBU-31v3 nowadays, maybe sporadically as a 24.

Yeah if CZ is highlighted there is a slew in the system which means they would not be hitting the planned coordinates. You have to press the OSB with CZ to remove the slew but make sure your TGP is not in a track or else CZing won’t work. If CZ de-highlights that means the slew was removed.

My reason for asking about range to target is that with SDBs you can drop very far away and they fly for a long time. If you drop far out and then turn 180 degrees and fly away from target I think it’s possible for the target/bombs to go outside the player bubble and stop existing. Then either the weapons disappear or (more likely I think) the targets do so then the bombs hit nothing.

Thanks for the answers guys. Also, I do not remember where I have read but the position of the Master Switch effect the ejection time of the seat. If Master is ARM or SIM, ejection happens right away after handle pulled(no delay). But if Master ARM is SAFE ejection needs 1 second delay. The reason behind this I believe was preventing unwanted or accidentally ejection. This may sound awkward but I remember something like this. This might be the reason for putting the Master ARM to SIM during takeoff and landing. Correct me if I am wrong please. Again thanks for answers guys.

Master arm has nothing to do with ejection.

The only delay I know of is in a 2 seater that’s configured for a dual ejection (there’s a switch in the rear cockpit) so the front seat delays slightly so the rear seat can go first.

There just isn’t a reason to set it to off. Sim won’t let you employ anything. So why go off on the ground and then have to go to sim right after getting airborne to do your weapon check? Just put it in sim from the get go. And as for ferry flights etc, just use sim out of habit. Off doesn’t add anything. The only time I would set off is if I had some kind of weapon malfunction like a runaway gun or something. And even then sim would probably accomplish the same thing.

Assuming that the setup isn’t too drastically different, one thing I like about the IQT program is that it’s pretty extensive in covering a lot of useful subjects, but it doesn’t lose itself in becoming so elaborate that it requires like 40 flights and becomes a nearly insurmountable obstacle, if that makes sense. That’s where that balance between hobby fun and realism comes into play and I think you guys will have the right balance.

Exactly. The much higher range for new AIM-120 concers strictly on F-22. Meteor is a big leap forward in kinematics if it has similar sensor to AMRAAM almost the only thing where Europe has the lead comparing to US in fighters.
