Not going to lie, those RL sounds are actually cooler than I expected them to be! Haven’t tried 4.35 yet, so my remark is not a commentary on the sounds in-game. Just appreciation for the coolness of RL.

Folks may want to check out https://testmy.net/
I believe it has value over speedtest.net. YMMV.

RE: FPS testing on BMS
Have not had it under 25 FPS even in the Benchmark TE. Remember your “Human Eye” only starts to notice anomaly at <24-23 FPS.
This is flatly untrue.

RE: AIM-9X Performance
@Master:
So, launching thrusted pyrophoric flares (which exist), that produce multispectral smoke (which exists), in a 360 bubble (that part does not exist) is a fairy tale. Well, we clearly have different definitions of the term “fairy tale”. Lets agree to disagree and leave it at that.
Why take it so personally? The proposed technology does not exist. In order for it to exist, it will require all of those things I mentioned.
Everything’s a fairy tale until such a time as it might be invented. If you’re offended by the term, that’s on you.

RE: Some questions for all the experienced 4.34 fliers out there.
Keybindings depend on which keyfile you use.
I suggest PSKeys to see what the keybindings are.
EDIT: I use this version.

RE: AIM-9X Performance
@Master:
If we can come up with it after a short discussion, you bet airforces are way ahead…
Discussions are free. Real-world implementation of fairy tales requires copious amounts of research, engineering, production, testing, and most of all: $$$$.

RE: Waste of time
@Red:
Another proof that the main issue for newbies is not bms but the understanding of their own controller setup
The right rudder toe pedal is for gas, and the left one is your brake, yeah?

RE: Data Cartridge
Drop in pairs, or use the trim control on your joystick or (if you don’t have it on your stick) the back-left console.

RE: Anyone interested in a more laid back type of VFS?
It was asked if anyone was interested in a more laid-back type of VFS, not “Why is what I want not good enough or acceptable?” or “Why should I want more than I do?”
Why don’t we just let him find other like-minded people?
If it’s out there, he’ll find it, fly, and the community will be better for it. If it isn’t, he’ll figure out what desires he may have to compromise on, or make what he wants for himself.
It’s like a someone saying they want to be a firefighter. Support them on that desire until it changes - don’t tell them they’d be better off wanting to be a scientist.
Fight fires all you want, FreqiMANN.

RE: Anyone interested in a more laid back type of VFS?
This thread is getting antagonistic for absolutely no legitimate reason.

RE: Anyone interested in a more laid back type of VFS?
Personality and time zones are not the primary reasons why so many different VFW/VFS/Groups exist. I strongly support what Vandal wrote above.
The only thing you can do is learn about the sim, and about yourself, to determine what (if any) group fits what you’re looking for. Recognize that the answers you come to may change at some point, which may require a different group than when you started. You may begin with limited proficiency and desire, and find that SOPs and skill minimums don’t work for you. Six months later with more experience, you might decide some SOPs and basic skill sets are something you actually want. Or six months could go by and you could be emphatically sure that you don’t want SOPs, and prefer to fly with invulnerability turned on just for fun.
What really matters however, is that nobody can tell you that you’re WRONG. Whatever road you travel on, if it gets you playing and flying, then don’t let anyone beat you down. It may be that you travel through multiple groups until you find one that fits your long-term entertainment goals from BMS, but that’s your choice. And if you find yourself flying with people who do not share enough of your goals to be compatible, the decision is pretty easy:
If you’re in charge - they can adapt or leave.
If you’re not in charge - you can adapt or leave.Either way, there’s more flying to be had elsewhere. The community is diverse and large enough that you should be able to find a wingman that works for you. Best of luck.

RE: Spacing out Durandals
Runways aren’t the only piece of long, flat concrete at an airport. Durandals were big crater makers, designed to penetrate into the concrete and explode upwards for maximum damage. You don’t need to go all the way down the runway to make it unusable. You just need to make sure there isn’t enough space between giant craters. 2-3 aircraft abreast each other would be sufficient in most cases. Offset (IE Not 90 degrees), and stagger the interval on each aircraft to have the highest probability of cratering each runway and taxiway in different positions, increasing the likelihood that surfaces of different width and length all get rendered unusable.
Sidenote: It is possible in BMS to depart from a taxiway…
And Harrison Ford can tell you it’s possible to land on one too.

RE: Track IR Recommendations
A few years back my TrackIR ProClip broke. I contacted Naturalpoint and explained my grievance and they admitted the design was less than robust, and sent me out an updated version of the TrackClip which is thicker than the old one used to be in the location which failed.
I have had no issues since then, and personally would not see the need to buy anything other than the default TrackClip Pro at this point.

RE: Template for realistic brief
F-16 OPERATIONS PROCEDURES - Air Force Instruction 11-F2-16 Vol3.pdf, included in your BMS Docs directory, has what I believe you are asking for (Attachment 2 section, page fifty-eight).

RE: Good Quality and Good Performance Guide - NVIDIA
And yet most of these settings are easily understood, or searched-for.
So you can’t say that your thread is intended for anyone other than beginners who have exceptionally limited technical knowledge. The very same class of people who might suspect that they should copy all of the settings you display.
Take it or leave it, but if you intend your thread to be read by those who do not know any better, then cleaning up that photo may avoid creating some problems instead of trying to solve them.

RE: Good Quality and Good Performance Guide - NVIDIA
Not remarking on anything else other than this:
“(With intonation on SHARP / CLEAN 3D picture / great VISIBILITY and good FPS)”
Intonation is the wrong word here. You may want to change that to “emphasis” or “focus.” Intonation is a musical term.
Edit: Actually you should also change your first BMS config screen to not show the Dogfight Self-Cancel box as being checked. Some might believe that is a setting you are suggesting, when for most people that will not be an option that works for them.
