I didn’t have to flash the firmware in the Cougar. Just disconnect, connect solved it. I wonder if the USB connection got lose?
Anyway, thanks for the advice.
Get rid of windows
Have you tried re-flashing the cougar firmware? Sometimes this helps.
All the best,
Uwe
Yeah, if BMS ran on Linux!
I’ll have to research how to do that again. Its been a while since I’ve done that. I believe the instructions are on the Thrustmaster’s site. I think.
EDIT: Yep, it’s there. I’ll have to do this when I have some time.
I’ve had a windows OS update, now my system doesn’t recognize that my Cougar is connected. Any suggestions?
No, I’m not getting rid of my Cougar.
The movies worked in the 32-bit version (x86) and not the 64-bit, but the 32-bit build was removed from the public installer. I think it has something to do with the codec or something like that.
South eastern. About an hour southeast from Tucson.
Since it’s been over two (2) years since the last post. Just wanted to inform everyone that the 56th VFW is still looking for those interested in joining. There is no level of experience required to join. Novice to experienced. Come check us out.
Would you be able to be more specific about these issues please? Perhaps screenshots of the numbers for airports, and descriptions of what’s happening when the freezes occur. Ta.
The numbers instead of airport names was in the New Millennium campaign. The freezes happen in that campaign also.
Two things I’ve noticed. One, it freezes. With 1.1 it seems to take sometime before it freezes. The second, with 1.1 I’m getting a numbers for the airports. This isn’t the case for the other campaigns.
He added something to a file to point to where to get the correct pit. Not sure what file.
Someone in our wing created a skins pack and that was the problem. It’s now been rectified.
Has anyone seen this? I created a TE and placed F-16CM-50/52’s and when I jump in, there is no pit. I tried the builtin TE’s and the pit was fine. I tried uninstall/installing – same result. I then uninstalled and downloaded it again and created a brand new TE with the same planes with the same result.
Just switched a week ago, from Vista to 8.1 after building a new rig to run BMS. Some tricks to installing old hardware like TM cougar and MFD rings, but got it all sorted and I am impressed by how much better things are running with all the eye candy enabled. My frames are double and running great on 8.1!
That’s great to hear. Can you share what you had to do so it all worked?
Vertics & Jeff, are you also using the Cougar with 10? If so, how is it working?
All is working as it should. Here is what I did.
Tested the DX and S1 was the trigger indent where it was Button 33 before.
I have an interesting problem. I just got a new rig and of course it has Windows 8.1. I have installed the Cougar HOTAS drivers and the DataIn/DataOut drivers didn’t install. I was able to select the cougar within the sim and when I pulled the trigger, it said 1st Indent. I was able to control the plane and select the items within the setup.
Once I installed the DataIn/DataOut and went into the sim, and pulled the indent, it said button 33. Is there a way to reassign the DX buttons in Windows 8.1 so it starts at DX 1 (or zero) instead of 33?
OK, I was able to change the names of the squadrons. I didn’t see the change take affect in the game until I saved my campaign then the names changed. I changed two of the names and their squadron patches. I am not seeing any patch for the 1st squadron but am seeing it for the second. The first patch is number 64 while the second patch change that does show is 26. Not sure if it is because the second is bigger than the max range of the variable or not.
… That would be a cheat when you are in a running campaign.
You are correct, but it would be nice to add different AC to a campaign at the beginning. Say, you wish to have both KC-135 & KC-10 tankers. Or E-3A and E-2C in the campaign. Or adding some MIG-17’s to the other side to make it interesting, etc… It would be a way to change up some of the canned campaigns without modifying them.
Just my 2 cents.
Oh yeah, thanks for the quick update.
With an airbase selected, have a button or context menu where you can add a squadron.
BTW, for my own edification, what language did you write this in? C++? C#? VB.Net? Java? Pascal? Fortrash, I mean Fortran?
I downloaded the newest version 0.3.1.8 tonight and went in to change some squadron names/patches. In the UI it appeared as though it worked. When I looked at the UI to select the squadron it showed no change. I even saved the file and looked within BMS and it showed no change. This is what I did:
Not sure if this is a user fart or a bug.
Thanks
Also, I noticed that someone asked to have a feature to add squadrons to a specific airbase. Also, is there a way to update the stores for a selected squadron?
Again, Thanks
