Which Windows version are you using?
-
Windows 10 will launch July 29th.
-
Yeah, but i’ve already got my free update from Win7Pro
And will get it on July 29th -
JFYI, Win10 iso available now: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/preview-iso
If anybody can try it … need feedback about Automatic Update issue ASAP.
“Windows 10 Home users will have updates from Windows Update automatically available. Windows 10 Pro and Windows 10 Enterprise users will have the ability to defer updates.”
For me, if it is true, this is a big NO GO.
If we can configure it to avoid auto download and auto install, I switch to Win10 as soon as I can to start BTest on Win10. But I need to know if it is true that we can’t delay updates download.

Yes you can reserve your free copy now, but it will only be available on July 29th.

@DJ, I have the same considerations for my operational machine. Although the the Win10 upgrade is reserved, you will of course be able to postpone the download, installation, or up to now with my inside knowledge even select to dl the new version in an .iso, so to perform a format / clear install (my case here).
But all this behavior is marketing and promo stuff, to also allow guru’s to have some indicated numbers on their wow presentations. (not the known WoW feature lol)

Vertics & Jeff, are you also using the Cougar with 10? If so, how is it working?
-
Just switched a week ago, from Vista to 8.1 after building a new rig to run BMS. Some tricks to installing old hardware like TM cougar and MFD rings, but got it all sorted and I am impressed by how much better things are running with all the eye candy enabled. My frames are double and running great on 8.1!

That’s great to hear. Can you share what you had to do so it all worked?
-
Cougar software has to be downloaded in Vista compatibility mode. USB power save mode has to be turned off for the USB ports you are using for MFD’s or else they will cycle on/off when not running BMS. Other than that, it was a pretty standard install.

Win 8.1 pro 64bit here.
I just hope, everything will work fine after the upgrade to win 10. :?
