KEYSPEECH 3.0.0 released. Now supports multiple DirectX PTTs!!!!

I play VAC offline and online. I have UHF and VHF PTT buttons and I also have a VAC PTT button (shifted UHF). When talking to my mates, I just use the normal PTT. When I know I’m about to issue a command (AWACS, Tower, Wingman, etc.), I first press the VAC PTT so that VAC starts listening, then use the normal PTT to broadcast my command. That way, the command is both issued over comms and to VAC as well. BTW, my VAC PTT is a toggle so that allows me to speak over normal UHF/VHF while VAC is listening. So how does Keyspeech offer me anything new or better?
I also have VAC (not using it at the moment as I need to get a better mic as it never understands me properly, despite doing several rounds of training) and like it a lot, the export to text file options are especially useful. Nonetheless I do think it could benefit from an accuracy slider, which all the competitors seem to have. I haven’t looked at Key Speech but Voice Attack seems to have some nice ways of creating conditional commands which would be useful in VAC.
What I’d really like to see is a program that can send commands on a UDP interface, to trigger commands in sims that can accept commands like /radio/tower/request landing. Then the program could come with all these commands included for us to map to voice commands (with defaults even, that we can change) and there’d be no more having to setup keyboard sequences like 1 - 5 - 3 (made up) to drill through menus to request landing.
I think X-plane is the only sim that listens for commands on UDP like this at present but it’s a chicken and egg thing, why should sim devs introduce the feature if there’s no voice recognition programs that can use it. Hopefully once someone starts the ball rolling, it will be easier to persuade devs to accommodate this superior method in their sims/games.

I may be mistaken, but doesn’t the X-52 not have DX Command capabilities? Isn’t it only programmable via the SST Software using macros? Not sure about the X-55.

X-55 does have DX Command capabilities.

You lost me there. In VAC, you can say “Tower, request landing” and VAC can issue the appropriate key sequence… which I don’t really know as I can’t remember the last time I asked tower for landing permission! However, I use VAC all the time when refuelling and it’s very nice to be able to “talk” to the tanker so I can issue the command without breaking padlock on tanker.
So what exactly are you saying?

Sure but first you (or someone else) has to work out the required key sequence for each sim/game you use and then map voice commands to trigger those key sequences. It would be much easier, quicker and probably less prone to error if it was able to send a single direct command via UDP instead of key sequences.

hey there keyspeech…still no joy. works ok when no profile loaded on sst but stops working as soon as i load a profile…using your latest beta, sst driver 7.0.27.13, sst software 7.0.2.7, directx 11 on a win7-64 bit machine.
cheers!

I’ve been reading this thread with interest, but it seems to have fizzled out.
So, what is the consensus about stability with Saitek(I have a x-65)? Is VAC stable?
As I understand this, these programs translates your spoken command into keystrokes in BMS. Ok so far. Also as I read here, everytime your callsign changes, you have to reenter in the program, but apparently that is a 3 stroke process(at least in Keystroke). I would also assume that every time the AWACS call sign changes you have to do the same. This assumes you want to do it right, ie: with callsigns.?
Finally, you set up a push to talk button, like UHF transmit, for example. -
With VAC you can set up multiple voice commands that send the same keystrokes
e.g. “AWACS request picture”, “Sentry request picture”, “Chalis request picture”, “request picture” would all return the desired information. -

Hello, Snake122 confirms that it is resolved with Saitek x-65.

I am pretty sure the same can be done with Keyspeech. I have tried VAC and it works as long as I use the keyboard button to activate. The problem that I have is that my Cougar throttle is used with TUSBA and my uhf/vhf buttons are directx. VAC does not recognize Directx buttons. Keyspeech recognizes Directx buttons, but I cannot get it to work in game yet even with keyboard buttons. Right now I can’t even get it to respond or even type anything using notepad. I have tried shoot, but cannot get it to work at all either.

Working to the next great feature: synonyms. Stay in touch …
-
That’s great news!!
-
Keyspeech, any news? I am looking forward to trying your program and would love to have the synonym feature, that is brilliant. I am currently using VAC and want to switch to a program that recognizes DX. In this day and age, not having this function is absurd…
-
agreed,
i tried a few weeks ago but couldn’t make it work, so i lost interest.

VoiceAttack lets you use DX for hotkeys.

I am pleased to announce the release of KeySpeech 4. This new release support synonyms. I especially thank jcenzano for his help. Enjoy !

Just installed Trial KeySpeech. Running it as Administrator, Setted UHF/VHF Hotas as PTT and also installed “_BMS_432_chipi_V3.0-KEYSPEECH-COMMS only” profiles. I Have those 2 issues. First one as soon as i run KeySpeech. The second one When i load profiles.
I also have a question. Seems that i have to choose one profile, each one refers to a specific callign. Is this means that i have to select proper profile every time i fly a mission with different Flight Callsign??? -

Is this means that i have to select proper profile every time i fly a mission with different Flight Callsign???I am not sure if the profiles are backwards compatible with Keyspeech 3.0. Anyway the new profiles for KS version 4 are ready, I just need a litlle time to prepare the post to publish them with all the details.
Just a big picture, now with the synonyms, a small single profile will do for all the original F-16 callsigns (including all numerals combinations Avenger, Claw, Falcon 11,12,13,14 ….91,92,93,94.
the phrases are basically the ones for the v3 profiles, but with little retouches and corrections.
I don’t want to keep you guys waiting and not being able to test the new version, but the detail explanations will have to wait.
You can download the F-16 callsigns profiles with this link.
