Ff you could have one thing in the next update it would be…

Which brings us back to what I said previously - not to replace, but to augment.
-
Not to replace… AWACS? No, ideally you always have some kind of air battle manager to support the fight. Ideally. You can lose awacs coverage though.
It seems to me like having forms of procedural ID would be a big step in the right direction towards being able to fight a threat competently without AWACS support.
-
Exactly - sometimes you do, sometimes you don’t. Most of the time you are not operating in an “ideal” situation…so you always use everything you bring.
Anyway, the more I think about how to implement AIFF in BMS the more difficult it appears it could be…but it would add another interesting level of complexity to the sim, though. And I’m all for that - in the never ending quest for “realisimo”!

An exchange between all those asking for additions to the next updates (E.G. IFF) :dhorse: & our honored Developers.

Monty Python!!!
They brought us so much!
…if I could have one thing, it would be to have them back!

The ability to provide ATC… would be nice for multiplayer I would give up flying now and then for that.

Have you tried Online Squadron Collection? We do human wingops/ATC/GCI with that regularly.

Whoah, yeah I’ve looked at it but it doesn’t seem to recognize my BMS install (4.33 and win10). How do you get it to look so pretty and useful?

You can load custom maps, and make custom objects, lines, circles, labels etc. You can also import objectives like the airport layout, waypoints and threat circles of a particular mission etc.
EDIT/ it works fine here with 4.33 (windows 7) -
Update avionics for the F/A-18! (not the F-16’s ones)

EDIT ops wrong thread

To be able to assign View L/R/U/D to a couple of axes.

It would be cool to communicate with ground units on CAS missions, or at least through AWACS…. like pop smoke and direct. Those enemy infantry units are had to spot on TGP or mk1 zoomed in eyeball
That’s about the only thing DCS has that I wish we had.

Arresting gear located at airbases. Would go along perfectly with the modeled brake failures

…I should have thought we have that?

…I should have thought we have that?
Nope, I thought the same. But it’s not.
Figured it out playing around with the hornet (which while I’m on the subject, should have better brakes, at least they shouldn’t blow out as easily as they do now. They are much more robust than the viper). But yeah, blew the brakes, first thing I did was drop the hook, kept right on rolling. That was at Kunsan, and a few other places. But no doubt it’d be nice for the long and short field gear to be active in game.

Definitely. JTAC would be great.
Although during CAS missions I’ve had AWACS tell me to attack other targets which they gave me the Bulls/distance to. There is a FAC mission role that you can add to CAS packages but I’ve never tried that.

So, now that we have these new magnificent vapor effects on wings/fuselage, maybe it is time for the devs to consider adding and the supersonic effect at some point, enabled for a couple of seconds during the mach-1 and -2 transition?
