4.33 HUD time to waypiont carrot missing?
-
That’s the way the jet works…

Yup, you can have an ETE and no caret, or an ETA and a caret to maintain the desired ETA.
-
So if you enable the time caret, you lose your ‘estimated time remaining to steerpoint’ reading? Seems like six of one, half-dozen of the other to me. I prefer a ‘time remaining’ display than a TOS display.
It’s two different points of view isn’t it? That is sometimes one will be more useful than the other depending on what you need to know/accomplish?

Welcome to Falcon BMS.

Welcome to Falcon BMS.
That is not a BMS concept. That is how it really works.
There is though a less elegant way around this to have both ETE and ETA displayed.
You will need to have the CRUS TOS page displayed, and set you speed to GS.
If you match your GS to the required GS shown on the CRUS TOS page your, bang on ETA -

I think my approach will be that if I’m flying lead, I’ll maintain a caret to keep the package on time. If I fly wing/element, I’ll maintain ETE and let lead worry about our time management.

Keeping in mind of course that element lead is the backup for timing and navigation…

All I gotta say is that lead better keep his butt in the sky…

Have been looking through the manuals and cant find any info on how to turn it on, as it worked automatically in 4.32. Dose it still work or not or am I missing something and have to turn it on somehow ? Don’t Know what its called exactly, The time to way point readout on the left hand side on the HUD. The scale is there but none of the carrots are there to line up to get to the way points at the right time.
cheers.
Go into “Cruise” (5) on your ICP then hit “M-SEL” (0). Carrot will appear.
