Ff you could have one thing in the next update it would be…

Guys criticising the atmospheric effects in the current version should know how complex is to simulate properly on a PC. What we have right now is already a superb work by mav-jp.

pfff sometimes i just feel so tired…
Thank you 100x for all the hard work.
I just mean that with a more advanced cloud and weather system Falcon bms would become totally untouchable.
I know that this probably can’t be implemented due to the limits of the aging engine.Maybe a kickstarter campaign to fund the purchase of a new engine or development thereof? I would surely contribute.
Again total respect from me for the dev team.

IMO,
Falcon BMS is an evolving program. It does not need to be done, if you and the devs in general, agree on what you put as a priority and what is not. It is your sim. We are all along for the ride. So far, I love the ride!

I find the only major thing missing to be an advanced cloud/weather system…
If you have it in a larger resolution I would much appreciate it if you could share it please.

It’s much better to have this one than a hundred of single “rant” threads.
IMO this thread can be also a kind of “thinktank” with things the Dev’s may haven’t thought about for now. The one or the other post may be stupid or blindfolded, but it’s not difficult to seperate the bad from the good …

For now (except for the “stupid things”) I have never seen any proposal that Hadn’t be already discussed in Dev forum few years ago.

But things change over years and issues unimportant in 2010 can easily grow.
For example IPv6: a few years ago this was discussed but identified as only very minor problem because there were just very few people with this connection. Today it looks very different, at least here in D/A/CH, it’s VERY hard to find a ISP where one can get a connection with own IPv4.
And yes: i know i sound like a broken record regarding IPv6  as server admin from one of the major VFW in middle europe this is the main headache-producing issue i have these days

Switch positions available from shared memory. We could then run touch screens for all our panels in simpits with the switches on the touchscreens always being in the right position all the time.

“Everything that can be Invented has been Invented”. He he, that was truth even in 1899. Not complayning though…

I saw a thread about IPv6 yesterday.
Do not look for arguments. I tell you that this thread is pointless and devs staff do even not really read it. But sometimes is funny … Sometimes disappointing (c.f. Weather comments).

Damn you! With this sentence you have destroyed the placebo effect this thread had for me
I can understand its disappointing sometimes, i’m in a similiar situation occupationally …

Please accept my apology this was not the aim of my comment.
It’s just weird to see screenshots from quite a few years back depicting relatively advanced cloud rendering.

http://users.skynet.be/state/falcon3.jpgi dont see any advanced rendering in what you are showing…just a different cloud texture.

http://users.skynet.be/state/falcon3.jpgcompared with earlier version you have in 4.33
- cloud evolution in shape and size with time
- layer thicknesses
- visibility control
- density and shape control
- multi layer in poor and inclement
- 7 weather types with realistic interpolation real time in between
- non uniform weather on the theater
-weather Mp sharing - convective /mechanical turbulences
-possibility to auto load real maps in live
…
i dont really understand what you consider more advanced in previous iteration of falcon
i think i will start stop reading that thread which only effect is to decrease my appetite to continue working on it
