Programming the DX shifting For X55 once profile is uploaded in game

Hello all
This is my first time posting so I wanted to begin by saying what an incredible SIM/Community this is.
I’m getting ready to start flying in falcon in earnest im just having a little problem with setting up my X55
I’m using the full .KEY file that came in the config folder.
When I start to program my buttons on my stick and throttle the un-shifted layer is fine, but after I program my pinky switch with the DX shift callback I’m unsure how to program my buttons for the shifted layer. I dont see any indication in the BMS control UI where I’m programming the buttons in the shifted layer.
Any advice/help/tips would be greatly appreciated.
P.s.
Ive used this fourm for all of my Falcon questions. From the very beginning download/installation all the way up to where I am now right before my first serious mission…Ive even watched a lot of peoples flights from here on YouTube! (Hour and forty-five to two hour live streams!)I just want to say again this fourm is an invaluable and truly awesome place to not only play a great sim, but also find a place of community.
Thanks in advance!!

The setup UI does not show you the effect of shifted layer programming. That part of the code simply doesn’t know about the shift mechanism. Really the only way to test shifted setups is to go into 3D world and work through the bindings one by one. I know that’s not an ideal answer for you but that’s how things are at present anyway, I’m afraid.

All you need the now about DX is in de keyfilemanual in DOCS folder, it will explain in detail more then I can repeat in a few sentences.
If you want to go the easy way then go here https://www.benchmarksims.org/forum/showthread.php?24506-X55-keyfile-Full-DX-Programmed, take a look and learn from an excisting profile and turn it around if needed to your own prefs.

Okay thanks! I’m pretty sure I got it
I just have one more question….
If the game UI doesnt show the shifted callbacks/commands then I want to make sure that I have the right callbacks listed in the .KEY file that point to the specfic buttons on my HOTAS correct?
-
That’s correct. You can only test it properly in pit. Making a list of callbacks (BMS Keystrokes.pdf// DOCS) and throw them in the key file with the proper syntax is all there is.
-
I took a look at your post Snelle…the .rar file says there are missing or broken components
-
it is ok just tested myself, redownload.

There it is! Okay thanks Snelle I’m going to give it a shot and report back in a little!

Okay I’ve got everything programmed how it appears in your photo….first thing is I dont have to worry about getting the shifted callbacks? Becuase of the DX in the .KEY file once I get in the pit it SHOULD work correct? I just hit my pinky switch and select the call back I want. Other thing is what is the callback in your file for Radar Standby? Ive been looking for it for a little now and I cant seem to select it from the list
Great work on making the Mouse nipple function! That will make things ALOT more streamlined!!

Okay I’ve got everything programmed how it appears in your photo….
I think I do no quit follow you here as you could have loaded my keyfile in the advanced controller UI without any actual programming. Open for your reference the keyfile with notepad and look at bottom section…there you have it including shifted.

Hello, Slayer. I’m following this thread with interest, as I have been trying to do the same thing with the x-65. I have the pinky set up as a functioning shift button, but the shifted commands aren’t working
Btw, I invite you to check out Airwolf’s adventures in the general forum. -
Do you both have the pinky shift key defined in both the unshifted layer and the shifted layer of the KEY file? That’s how I had to do both my X-55 and TM Warthog sticks.

Btw, I invite you to check out Airwolf’s adventures in the general forum.I do not see any reason why shifted commands would not work. Get yourself a decent keyfile or start reading the manuals for better result.
Threat hijack and excessive quoting is not really appreciated. -

Threat hijack and excessive quoting is not really appreciated. Is this addressed to me? If so, what am I hijacking, and what am I excessively quoting?
