Please wait until 4.33.1 is out.

Guys sorry to ask you but i need some directions here. I don’t have Falcon’s original CD’s so I just bought (on gog.com), the Falcon Collection that includes: Falcon (16 mb), Falcon AT (16 mb) and Falcon Gold (372mb).
What should i do ?
1. Uninstall my current Falcon BMS 4.33 ?
2. Do a fresh install ?
Which one should i install ? Falcon, Falcon AT or Falcon Gold ?3. And after that ?
Thanks in advance !
Viper_J
I’m pretty sure for the GOG collection Falcon 4 is listed as an extra of Falcon 3 gold.
In GOG, click on Falcon Gold, Falcon 4 will be listed in the ‘Game goodies’ at the right handside, click on it there and it will download. That’s the part you need.

So steam has the bundle as well as the standard 4.0 . which one is better
-
Thanks for the great news, gents, your efforts are much appreciated. I’ll too have to think about how to best go about installing f4.0 on our dedicated server, I guess creating an ISO and uploading that to the host will be the easiest option.
Cheers & keep up the good work!

For the sake of £2 (in the uk) I’d go for the bundle just to get the older versions too - but if you have no intentions of trying them out then maybe for the the single v4

Wouldn’t it be easier to just download it from gog or steam on the server itself? After all it needs it’s own licensed copy anyway.

A big thank you Sir !
Viper_J
Up to you.

You need to have a complete install of Falcon 4.0. Falcon, Falcon AT or Falcon Gold (by which I presume you mean the one featuring the complete collection of updated versions of Falcon 3.0 , MiG-29, Operation: Fighting Tiger and Art of the Kill dogfighting video) will not work.Wait for the release to become available and then install and [we hope] enjoy.

Thank you a lot ! I got it !

No, it will not work.
From the first post
Falcon 4.0 must be installed correctly and completely on the system for the checks to succeed. For the avoidance of doubt, only copies of the original Falcon 4.0 game will work for use with Falcon BMS (any other later variants such as Allied Force are not compatible).

Damn i missed that part well its on steam for $6.99

Time to press forward…thanks for your efforts BMS Team.

Great News !! A Big “THANKS” to all involved in the entire process.
One Question:
Will the Addon Theaters already relesed for 4.33 (Israel, Balkan, Korea2012) work with 4.33-1 -
My Windows 8.1 system makes registry entries for my Microprose F4 installation on my USB stick; will that be sufficient for the new installation routine detection process? Will the 4.33.1 launcher require the physical CD (obviously not for Steam installs) to be present in the drive to start?
The stick will be in place when I launch the new versions of BMS 4.
Thanks for making F4 available to the community; this is a small price to pay for such a great simulator!

EDIT: Problem solved by installing in Windows 10 Safe Mode.
I have been trying to install the original Falcon 4.0 from CD on my Windows 10 x64 system. Regardless of whether I’m starting the autorun.exe directly from the CD, from a copy of the CD on my local harddrive, from an .iso created of the CD, or via LAN from the CD inserted into my laptop, after clicking on “Set Up Falcon 4.0” in the autorun menu, nothing happens (except I can see that the “32-bit Setup Launcher (32-bit)” becomes listed in the Task Manager under Processes). Running Setup.exe directly yields the same result.
I have tried setting autorun.exe and Setup.exe to run as administrator and in any compatibility mode available without success.
On the contrary, on my laptop which is still running Windows 7, I can install the game just fine directly from CD without fiddling with compatibility settings.
Has anyone been able to install the game onto a Windows 10 x64 system using the original CD, and if so, how?
If this is not possible, would BMS 4.33.1 work if I just copied the Falcon 4.0 folder installed on my Laptop to my PC?

On my side and on my desktop computer, I’ve tried to install from an ISO of my original CD. No joy, it didn’t worked. Then tried to re-install directmy with the original DC ROM, and then, no prob.
Running on Windows10 x64
Will try now with another original CD ROM on my Laptop … will keep you advised.
If this is not possible, would BMS 4.33.1 work if I just copied the Falcon 4.0 folder installed on my Laptop to my PC?
Of course no, it won’t work.

Sure, I’ll check if gog requires some sort of client (I’m not going to install steam on the server).
Thanks for the hint!

I have always an .iso on our server for installation purposes. After mounted installation works flawless.
