Boresigthing Mavs in ground is a good option, I tried it but I couldnt obtain a point lock at the objects I tried with . Has anybody succeed in it ?
Which procedure is done in RL, when in ground or once at flight ?

Stevie asserted that FLIR boresight is not implemented in BMS, and the Block 40 and 42 are two examples of jets equipped with it, featured in BMS, which have such a boresight requirement.
For the record? Not that hard, either.

ThanksYes, tho only with the ‘G’'s. I’ve had no luck with the 'D’s even using the same target on the ground. Maybe I just got lucky and the KF-16-32 doesn’t like the ‘D’ mav.

Boresighting Mavs on the ground (in BMS) is just a waste of time, even if you can find something you can point track.
It is so much easier and quicker to do this once you are airborne. Once you are competent you can easily boresight all stations without even deviating from your flightpath, either just after takeoff before you climb to cruising altitude, or at some point along your route if it’s more convenient to do it later.
Like so many other tasks, practise makes it easier and quicker to do.

Do the mav D’s require the laser ? I simply cannot get them boresighted on ground or inflight no matter what I do.

The only difference in BMS as far as boresighting is concerned is that the D model has dome covers, which you need to remove with UNCAGE. Assuming you’ve done that I can’t think of any other reason why you would struggle with D’s but not with G’s.

The AGM-65 boresight procedure may only be performed on the ground if the missiles do not have dome covers installed. If dome covers are present, the procedure must be done while airborne.

Me either, but the G’s boresight fine, even on the ground. I haven’t tried a single weapon tho, my failures all occur with the triple rack, and all on the same A/C. -

In my case I can only get “area” which seems not to be enough for completing boresight.- -

I don’t know if the Ds always have dome covers but they should in cases where they are mounted more than one per rack which of course with the G is impossible. It may even be done if more than one rack is on a single side of the airplane (e.g. 3 & 4) but that’s an unusual configuration.

Ahhhh, now it makes sense. After MANY nights of trying I finally got D’s boresighted as per the training mission on a CLEAR day, but the overcast training (as well my campaigns) are all inclement weather making point track boresighting extremely difficult in the air.

After they have been boresighted, you will have already removed the dome covers. To do the boresighting.

Wasn’t sure if they were a part that jettisons, or an internal cover that that moves back into place when the head gets caged.

They jettison…which is one of the reason why you pretty much never see MAV mounted on anything but single rails in RL. If you want to operate like reality, get used to carrying only two, and taking one shot per kill.

Don’t be skeptical We have gone through this before. Please lets not dwell on this.
On LAU-117s, boresight each launcher/missile.
On a LAU-88A/A, boresight only the priority missile on each launcher. The dome covers on other missiles must be retained for protection during priority missile
launch. The memory boresight feature provides a boresight reference for all missiles on the launcher. -
The missiles on the launcher have no misalignment for the LAU-88 then? What makes it special?
Mavericks are just in the do not fly list, anyway. Come back when they are finished being implemented.

I’m sure you guys do have manuals that are 'floating" around (they should not of course). Have a read and them come defending your position with some evidence rather than guessing or assuming.
