How to….multiplay!? Heeeeelp
-
Thx for reply… but which IP do I have to choose? My local or my ipv4? Everytime I try it tells me: failed… could not connect. I never find any server to join
-
if you are trying to host, use the address 0.0.0.0, then your bandwidth should be set to a number above how many clients you are going to be hosting times their bandwidth, then have them connect to your external IP.

If you want a 24/7 campaign server to test join with then go to 199.0.207.230 (veterans gaming server)
Even if nobody there when you connect you can still go into the game as a test.2 regular German players are kaos and Brain but its hit and miss if others there when you look. You can still do your bit for the war solo.

Thank you…. ok I will try! I find it very hard for a noob to join any multiplayer game on BMS. When I think on Counter Strike or Tactial Ops or some other game… it was very very easy there. I will test it tomorrow
Thank you all… -
In my hotlist there is a video how to connect and how to become a host for multiplayer or mp as we call it.

Hi Arty… well the vid is in greek and very low on quality. I don’t know how to do it… when I set my IP as static then I can connect in ivpclient in the launcher menu. But in Falcon I can’t connect to the server. Always failed… I don’t know what to do with my IP, with my router, with Portforward, etc.
It isn’t so easy as I thought.
Doesn’t matter… I will play offline -
Maybe check out this one, Krause did it a long time ago but think it’s still applicable.

You don’t enter YOUR ip if wanting multiplayer. Its all in the manual.
Open your phonebook and click new.
Enter a name of your choice for the connection
Enter the ip I gave you
enter 1024 as bandwidth
enter same ip in box for dedicated ivc server. There is no password.
Have both ivc boxes green
Save
The server name is now in your phonebook
Click it
Click connect
After a few seconds it should succeed.
Click campaign tab then online tab. You should then see the veterans gaming server listed. Click it and map showing server day/time will appear.
If you click the + it will display who is in the game if any. But not which base they are flying from. There are ways to find out.
Next step is selecting an airbase on the map and joining. A little more to it than that but get to that stage 1stAt this very moment there are 3 players in it.
On this server you can also arrange to meet people to play their/your TE or dogfight but do not create an extra campaign.

@cobaltuk
Well I did so… but after clicking on connect the message failed to connect appears. So maybe theres another problem. Do I have to set my IP static? Do I have to use things like portforward before I run falcon??I will check Krauses Vid. Thx
-
Oh yeah. Starting point IS to have your ports forwarded. Simple if you familiar with that. However, its more likely that you have not selected 32bit game and standard korea theatre. It ought to be possible to get connect even without ports forwarded. Though u will have issues so needs to be done.
Theatre is Korea KTO
Game mode 32 bit When you launch game at top right you can select 32 or 64. Default is 64 when 1st installed. -
No I have run the 32 bit…
But I guess it is the problem with the port forward stuff. I’m not familiar with this… -
Check out www.portforward.com and use their tool https://portforward.com/help/portcheck.htm to check situation with bms ports.
If you can access your router control page in browser it will typically have a section where you can select ports to forward.
-
Ok and what ports do I have to set there in the router menu? I tried to select my router in the portforward programm but my FritzBox isn’t listed there.
So…step by step…
First I habe to set my IP to static. Check
Then I go into the router menu in the browser, looking for ports to forward…and then?
Sorry for my stupid questions -
Ok…. the ports are open now!!! Yeeha… but the comnection to the server still failed. Hm…
-
Everyone needs to be on either 32 or 64 to join. If one is on 32 and others are running 64 or vise versa, then it will not work…
Greetings

Oh ok… well I just tried the Veteren server which CobaltUk told me…
-
Greek video as a matter of speaking? I thought it was fluffers video.

As far as I know, that is not mandatory anymore when you are a client.

@Krause
Well…I followed your instruction. And my ports are open. I’m able to host bit I still cannot join the server CobaltUK told me. I mean this 24/7 one…
